We arrived Monday night safe and sound. Thanks so much for all the prayers! The trip was long and tiring but otherwise smooth. The kids (and John and I) were thrilled to find out that on the second plane, the one for the 10 hour flight from Amsterdam to Memphis, we had Video on Demand. Each seat had its own little TV screen and a remote control. There was a good selection of movies and games and everyone was well occupied. The last leg of our 36 hour journey was on a small plane from Memphis to Huntsville. Holly, who had only slept for 2 hours at the beginning of our tirp, was begging for a window seat. That was easily arranged and she was eagerly looking out the window before takeoff. The plane went down the runway for a long time and I was beginning to wonder if we were going to fly or drive to Alabama. Holly was asleep before take off. That last flight was just under an hour. Holly is a very sound sleeper, especially the first couple of hours. I could not wake her up when we reached our destination. John finally had to pull her up out of the seat and she walked in her sleep, with guidance, off the airplane and into the terminal. With our carry-ons, it was slow and difficult to lead a sleeping child through the airport to the baggage claim area so we found a wheelchair for her! She finally managed to wake up a few minutes later when my mom was giving her hugs and kisses. It’s good to be home!
I’m going to have a contest soon, hopefully tomorrow, so stay tuned.
YEAH! I'm so glad that you all made it home safe and sound! Praise the Lord.
