Rain, Rain, Go Away!
This
morning we woke up to rain. It wasn't much more than a sprinkle
and hardly anything to complain about unless beach plans had been
made. We didn't have any such plans. My goal for today was
to get some laundry done. (See my Laundry Day post)
This week we have had a lot of company, which has been terrific!
The problem is all those people require clean sheets and towels, not to
mention clothes. Three teenage boys who are out riding bikes and
playing tennis in the hot sticky weather can go through a copious
amount of clothing. Two of Gabe's friends came on Tuesday.
Their parents, two sisters and a friend came into town last night to
attend a wedding today. They will leave sometime tonight.
We managed to find spaces for everyone to sleep without too many being
on the floor. This evening another family will join us. It
is a Romanian pastor, his wife and children and a couple of people from
their church. They are coming to be a part of our baptismal
service tomorrow. So, in addition to needing some sunshine today
for my laundry to dry, we desperately need the sun tomorrow since the
people will be baptized outside! Please pray with us for some
wonderful weather tomorrow!

Is one of your spiritual gifts hospitality? I hope so:-). Just before we went overseas I took a spiritual gifts inventory. My area of "least" giftedness was hospitality! The Lord most certainly has a sense of humor, the people of the country we were in greatly valued and extended it. They were the most gracious people we'd ever met. (And they were lost!)
Being alone in a foreign country can make one appreciate guests, so we got to the point where we were inviting people to come visit and stay with us! I hope I've learned a thing or two from that experience.:-)
I hope your rain slacks off so you can get those sheets washed. Have a great day.

I'll be praying that your baptismal service goes well! Sounds very exciting to have an outside baptism, and although the baptismal pool is convenient, I think we're missing something by using it!
I agree with DreweLlyn's take on hospitality. As a pastor's wife I am sadly lacking in this department, but the Lord has used many things over the years to help me learn. :)
