Back to our regularly schedule routine, mostly lol

Well, as my title suggests, yesterday we were back to our normal routine.  Thank goodness. After last week, I needed it.  The only thing, which was a small thing, was all the kids stayed home while I took dh to work. Sunday evening dd N was complaining of a head ache so we put her to bed early.  During the night,/early morning around 3:30 or 4 a.m. she came into our room stating her ear hurt. So I got up and got some med for her.  However, before going to bed the night before, I had a bit of a gut ache so when I got up to help her, I realized my gut was really not happy. Somehow I managed to help her out, put her to bed and head back to bed myself.

Then around 4:30 or 5 we were both woken by a thunderstorm. Also knowing that anytime the girls would both be in bed with us shortly.   And we were right. So the last part of the night was spent with 2 very nervous girls in our bed.  It wasn't long, though, that my alarm went off. So I got up and came online and found ds R already up. His waking schedule has changed lately and so I never know if he's going to be up early or sleep in. Guess it all depends on if he's done physical labor the night before or not.

So Mon I am getting ready to take dh. I mention to dh that I think we should leave both girls at home with ds R. He's in agreement on that. So off we go in the rain. The storm was mostly gone when we left, but I was still concerned that the girls would wake up and be upset. Dh doesn't always understand my concern, so I just let it go. He thinks I have them scared due to my reactions. Well it's possible, but due to the fact that my parents weren't bothered by the storms and I was tells me that it's now always how the parents react that makes the child nervous. Oh well.

I head home after dropping dh off and make a call into home. Ds tells me that dd S has just woken up. It's 8:15. I tell him she is NOT to go back to sleep and he assures me he knows. I arrive at home in time to see other dd N wake up. She's a bit flustered that I wouldn't wake her up, but I told her she needed her sleep so that's why I let her sleep.

The rest of the day was regular stuff. We were asked to separate the wood for the swingset so dh could find the righ sizes quicker.  So after lunch we proceeded to do that. What a LOT of wood and different sizes.  And very muggy outside while doing this. Made me appreciate the nice a.c. in the house.

After a bit it was time to pick up dh. All the kids piled in and off we went. Came home, ate dinner, and eventually dh and ds R were outside starting again on the swingset. We're trying to get it put together by Sat. We have some good friends coming over and they have 6 small children 10 and under. So we need to get this done by then.

All this time while we were working on the swingset, I noticed dd N was resting on the couch. Apparently her ear was still kind of bothering her off and on.  I told her to let me know if it continued through the evening and I would get her some med before bedtime.  If it continues another day or so I'm going to make an appt for her.  Both her and I share ear problems, so I understand how she feels. Poor thing, of all the things to enherit from me is my ear problem.

Bedtime was relatively quiet, or as quiet as it could be. Ds likes to rile up dd S and it frustrates me because I'm trying to settle her for bedtime and under normal circumstances she's hard. Finally got her settled and into bed.  Again for a nice quiet evening with dh.
