Blogging Against My Will

UBER

"Uber" is a word. A real word. In German. Meaning: Super. Etc.

My sister is behind me in the kitchen wipping up the instant pudding I gave her for christmas. Pretty good gift, no? I wish I got instant pudding . . . instead I got towels. I am completely serious. TOWELS. But I'm not complaining. "I like them" (Nacho). I just realized that Mrs. D. got me an uber cool towel and wash cloth for christmas, I LOVE them! But my aunt also got me towels, the kind you put in a guest bathroom to look fancy. . . I'm afraid to use them.

Yesterday I went to Wal-mart for my lovely mother and got "Dancing with the Stars - Cardio Workout." My sisters and I just finished huffing and puffing to keep up with the quicklified moves of Maks, Ashley, and Kym. Boy are they difficult!! (No laughing please)

They finally took "F Minus" out of the comics in the paper. What an awful comic strip!! half the time we looked at each other in puzzled horror. What was it they were trying to say?! Did it mean anything at all or was it just some sort of sick joke that attempted to make us laugh while we went through the rest of our lives in utter confusion. Our favorites comics include "Pearls Before Swine", "Get Fuzzy", "Pickles", and the rest depend on the day we read them and how we feel at the moment, as well as the content the spazy writers jotted into the strip. But I think Darby Conley (Get Fuzzy) gives the dog (Satchel) the best faces ever. Uber good.

Let's see . . . that's about four "Uber's" in a post. (Now five). Not bad!

See ya! `KATalina

I AM GOING HOME! CHRISTMAS BREAK HAS BEGUN, THE FAMILY AT HOME ALREADY DECORATED THE TREE, AND I HAVE SO MUCH TO DO BEFORE I LEAVE!!!!

The title pretty much says it all. In approximately 12 and 1/2 hours I will be leaving college and heading from southern California to central. (That means I'll be leaving at ten at night!) It takes about six hours, and we have to stay awake!!

The Christmas tree is my family's least favorite Christmas chore. This is because we literally have hundreds of ornaments and it takes for days!

I'll see some of you readers soon, some more maybe later, and the rest . . . probably never . . .

I have to finish two papers! And Pack! And find an ornament for an ornament party!

Yikes!  ~Katalina

A Random Entry Like Jessica's

It is time for a random blog!! Yeah! First I will list a few of my favorite things:

(This one just popped into my head) Being released from your father's hold on the back of your bike as you take off with no training wheels and DON"T FALL!

Eating as much watermelon as you can outdoors in the Summer.

Watching "The Chipmunk Adventure" for the millionth time and still loving it.

Getting into a water and suds fight while trying to wash the car.

Singing out loud in the car because no one on earth can hear you! (Just look at you funny while they drive past)

Playing a song on the Piano that nobody else knows , not even you, and listening to the way it happens - holding my breath.

Putting the clean, wet sheets on the line over my head and smiling as I smell their clean-sheet smell.

Perusing my 'Country Home' magazines and making plans for my own country home (hopefully) someday.

Eating half the cookie dough while baking cookies.

Blue.

Christmas lights!!

Cinderella nights. When the moon is full and bright, the wind is there, and the clouds move swiftly past the stars. It reminds me of the night of the ball in Cinderella, when they are out in the garden; dancing.

Laughing during a movie even though no one else seems to think it's funny!

Fresh, homemade lemonade. (That rymes!)

Having things ryme when you don't mean them to and it sounds cheesy!

Thinking of things to write on my favorite things list and ending up with my head cocked to one side, smiling like a crazy person.

Kettles.

Nesquik chocolate milk at my grandma's while she cooks bacon.

Wind!

I should probably stop now. It really is so much fun to think of yor favorite things! I should do it more often, I know I have a ton more "favorite things". (I just heard everyone groan).

Alright, I'm stopping. But my last favorite thing of the day is:

Reading my bible and having God show me something that I know he wants me to learn, knowing it was for me, and realizing all over again that he loves me more than I can ever dream of.

I really don't want to blog right now. Why me.

I am in a friends' room down the hall 'cause my internet is down. And since I should blog, but don't want to, I figured I would. *Sigh* Why did I actually start to blog? Oh yeah, BFF forced me to. Oh well, I guess that's my lot in life. To be a lot in life. *Cackles*

So, eight performances later the play is over and the set is down and everyone did so well. I got a piece of the curtain to remember it by from our "award" ceremony after the last show on Saurday. Good times! Tuesday of this week I get to go and see "Wicked" in L.A. if you have no idea what "Wicked" is, it's a musical about the wicked witch of the west and Glenda the good witch of the north from The Wizard of Oz. It tells Elphaba's story (the "wicked" witch) and how she and Glenda were roommates in school and how she became the W.W of the W. Great music! I'm so excited!

I've gone to bed late the last few nights because of this play and I'm tired now and need to finish writing a paper for English tomorrow. "And so, goodnight, unto you all." (Puck from "midsummer") Fare thee well.

~Katalina

P.S. "We have a saying in the McKay house; shake and shake the ketchup bottle. Non will come and then a lottle." (Charlie from "Kate and Leopold")

A Midsummer Night's Dream

Ah, Shakespeare! The man who confuses and annoys the average person of today. The man who revolutionized playwriting. He gave us Romeo - what we call someone who loves. Iago - the man behind the downfall of Othello, and the name of a certain obnoxious bird in "Alladin".  Famous lines: "To be, or not to be . . ." "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark"; both from Hamlet. Puck - that sprite of the faires in "Midsummer" who stires up mischief, and who Peter Pan was modeled after. Countless movies are taken from his plays, or they have similiar characters or ideas. He was a genius in his own right, forming stories of lighthearted fun and serious issues; comedy and tragedy; Love and loss. These themes are still as here today as they were then, just written in a different way . . .

Opening night is tonight! My school will present "A Midsummer Night's Dream" by William Shakespeare. My Play Production class (which is really a technical theatre class) has done all the work for lights, set and set design, scenery and other random, but needed, things. During the play I will be holding open the jungle of curtains we have put up to ensure the actors entering or exiting the stage don't run into a certain pole or fumble madly at the tangle of curtains. I just got all my cues last night so I hope all goes well. I get so tired afterward! Standing for almost two hours is not the best thing for my poor legs . . .but it's fun!. I also assist with the set change: the scene changes from a palace to a wood, the faires come out and move a few things around but mostly it's the crew who pushes and pulls and reverses the platform (unseen, off-stage), changes the curtain backround and sends out the fog. I must say that our lighting designer is amazing! The lights for this show are so awesome and if they could get all the cues right by tonight that would be a huge help. . . The actors do a pretty fine job, and I was so impressed by the overall look and feel during our first run through (and we weren't even finished with painting the set or lighting) that I know it will be a play worth seeing. Especially if you like a good laugh! Puck is amazing, as well as the mechanicals who are the players in the play within a play. I wish you could come and see it!

Well, now that I have discoursed on theatre for a while I have to go get ready for tonight. Tech crew has call at 3:30 to finish last minute details.

Break a leg!

I would like to explain myself!

Okay! So, I was writing a post out in Word (as a certain friend of mine suggested) and I put pictures in it and it looked pretty snazy - if I do say so. But either the internet was going nuts, or the post didn't want to copy over. I don't know! And I didn't think that anything WAS posted until this morning . . . sorry for turning your worlds upside down and inside out with my strange title that would have made sense if you had read the entry it went with. (Deep Breath)

So! My roommate was gone all weekend, meaning I got the room to my lonesome (Not as fun as it may sound) and Friday classes were canceled because of a power outage (how terrible <--- Jessica, you know how to say it; and anyone else who has seen The Mouse And The Mayflower.) My R.A. and some girls on my hall, including myself, then went and rented Blast From the Past and ordered Pizza and had lovely late morning and afternoon. Way down on the other end of my hall is a girl who also is alone with "roommate at home for weekend" status. So we watched a movie together in the evening, ate popcorn (the love of my life! I don't know why I like that fake-buttery, cardiac- arrest- waiting- to- happen- taste . . . but I so absolutley do!) Then I spent the night with her and we talked for a good hour before dosing off to never-never land where Peter Pan and Captain Hook duked it out in hand-to-hand combat and Peter lost and Hook got eaten by the croc with help from Smee. So Tinkerbell covered everything in gold dust and let never-land float in space while she enslaved the Lost Boys and made them give her manicures. (She couldn't get a pedicure because her shoes don't come off).

And that's what you get when you complain about my blog being boring (Mrs. Dunfee!), I hope I have appeased the powers that be. :" )

Until a later time because I am a busy college student who makes up excuses not to blog,

~Katalina

Everyone has a baby kangaroo. . .

Everyone has a baby Kangaroo, yours is pink but mine is BLUE!

Please don't send me nasty letters about not having a baby Kangaroo. Just because yours grew up doesn't mean you can sue.

Now, I am finally posting after an absense that can only be explained as procrastination. I have time in the middle of my day right now because my English class was canceled. As you are most likely aware, I am heartbroken. I don't know how I'll live . . .

Tomorrow is my "I hate my computer class day" officially. I am so bad at computer that I hope and pray that I'll just pass the class. But thinking about it makes me have a mix of emotions (like anger, HATE, and anxiety *which is one of my favorite words to say*) so I think I'll talk about something else now.

I am going to share with you some very interesting things I've been learning here. In my college freshman class (called FOCUS) we had to take a test called Strengths Quest. It takes about 45 min. online and you can only take it if you bought the book with the code inside. The test is designed to take your answers and give you 5 top results that are supposed to be your first five (and most important) strengths. My top five were:

  • Input
  • Developer
  • Adaptability
  • Responsibility
  • Positivity

After reading the info on what each of these 5 mean as strengths, I was like "wow! that is so me!" I don't feel like explaining the whole deal - if you really want to know just ask and I'll explain it, just for you.

I feel so much better now that I caught up on blogging! I'd pat myself on the back but it's sometimes hard to reach. Not that I'm hunchedback or anything . . . .

So - siagnora (if that's how you spell it) and God Bless The USA!!!

~Katalina in an almost random moment of patriotism.

Today is my "I don't do homework on Fridays" day.

My BFF is here!!! She came to visit me at school and we had a lovely time talking and hanging out. But now she is doing homework (do you see something wrong with this picture?) and since I don't do homework on Fridays (my own fabulous rule) I am forced - out of not quite boredom- to blog. That is why I have called this "blogging against my will". I dislike feeling guilty about long breaks from posting, and then I try to write something and nothing comes out well, blah, blah, blah and so on.

Today I wrote a five page paper in-between classes. It was due by the next class. Crazy me. But I did it (I had not time before that) and got a good peer review to boot! What a multi-tasker I am! (Riiiiiiiiight). So BFF is here, and the group she rode down here with is at their hotel, getting their beauty sleep for the show they will see tomorrow. In the morning I'll show mi Amiga around our beautiful college campus in southern Cal. Then maybe we can go off campus for some much needed Off-campus time. (Please!!!!)

So that must have been heaven itself to read.  I have decided to write myself a tag. Yeah me! Here goes:

Does today's date mean anything to you?:  Yes. only one more week till Columbus day! I'm so excited!

Do you have a tattoo?: What kind of question is that? If I did I wouldn't be living at home. Hey! I guess I'm not living at home . . . but I don't have a tat. Someday I'll name a random Tattoo parlor "Emo Tats". Just for fun.

Is your father a communist?: He probably can't even spell it.

What is your favorite ingredient in ice Cream?: Oh, definitely the Ice.

Are you a conformist to daylight savings?:  Well, I'd have to be since without it I wouldn't get Fall-back. And that is very important to me.

Alright, leave me a comment on what you think of these spur-of-the-moment Q's. Be honest . . ..

Until we meet again,   ~Katalina

The Wonderful Weekend!

Dearly beloved. . .

We are gathered here today to read the highly interesting *cough* answers to a tag. Filled out by our most humble *gag* Katalina. Please remain seated. When we have finished here, you may speak . . . or forever hold the peace we so desire you to hold.

1. If you had to name your shower curtain, what would you name it? Bob of course. What else do you name things?

2. What is the coolest thing that happened to you in the last 10 minutes?  Seriously? Or not? Well. . .if I was going to answer un-seriously I would say I ate lots of Gushers and jumped on my bed and got a phone call that said I got picked to be on Dancing With The Stars (as a star) and they’d pay me a million bucks! But that didn’t happen-----------wait! You don’t know that didn’t happen because YOU are not ME. *Ahem* Oh, oh yeah. (acts casual) that happened. Cool huh? No big deal. I jump on my bed all the time. . .

3. Please go stand on your head and count to 23. If you don’t, explain why. I counted to 23 but decided to skip the standing on my head part since I can’t do it. When I got to 23 nothing happened. What kind of bogus joke was that!

4. Write three sentences about your opinion on Destiney (hsb.com/Destiney) Sentence one: I’ve never been to Boston in the fall. Sentence 2: I’ve never bathed in yoghurt.Sentence 3: I’m a Pirate who doesn’t do anything. And I’m not too good at ping-pong.

(What was I doing again?)

5. What was the silliest thing you have done in the last three weeks. Trust me, you don’t want to know!

6. Ever been to mexico? Twice. Tortas are da bomb! And Watermelon tastes better when stolen . . .long story. Go Chivas! ß---- only my fav. Futball (soccer) team on the planet!

7. What are fortune cookies made of?  WHAT!! How dare you ask me for my family’s secret Fortune Cookie recipe!!!??? We will never spill the beans!! OOPS! Did I say BEANS?! I meant we will never spill the MEANS. Yeah. Great! How do I explain this to my family . . .

8. If the king of Ecuador asked you out, what would you do?  Ask how come I can understand him since I don’t speak Ecuadorian.

Wow. I’m tired. Long weekend. Too much homework. Not enough sleep.

Friday was really fun! After classes I watched “Meet Me In St. Louis” with a couple girls from my hall, then we went for a walk around campus and took fun pictures. Followed by a game of water polo. Speedos are horrid inventions. Then we went for yet another walk that ended up at In n Out for dinner. YUM-O! For those of you not familiar with In n Out I pity you immensely. From there we went back to the dorm and watched funny movies on youtube and laughed. And laughed. And . . . you get the idea. Very fun Friday. Homework definitely waited till later.

Saturday was spent doing laundry, very little homework, watching a soccer game and going to see WEST SIDE STORY on stage at the community theatre. They did so good!

Well, adios

~Katalina the long winded

The Title of My Blog For The Day

What is up with everyone?!

So, how are you? Good?

Great! Pleasantries over with, we can now commence with the festivites:

First order of the day is to inform you that I now (for this brief moment in my week) have time to post and  I have internet access in my dorm room which means I do not have to run down to the computer lab. What a relief!!

To catch you up would be too difficult, so I will just start with very recently and go from there. Did you know that my school has the best Vanilla Pudding I have ever had? Just thought I'd throw that at you. In case you were dying to know. And in case you wonder why the next time you see me (if-in fact- you do see me) I will have gained a million gajillion pounds.

I love college. I love my classes. I will tell you what they are: Ben, if you're  still counting tell me what number this is:

OKAY! I highly enjoy my English class. Taught by a Dr. who must never swallow his saliva because it is always in his mouth.

I aslo like my Old Testament Survey class and teacher. No class today because he went to Monterey. Wahoo!

My Computer class (required) is great if you know what you are doing. Since I do not, it is not great. But not horrible either. At least not always . . .

Theatre History is interesting and our class just switched to a new teacher who I like very much. (She's easier).

Play Production (If you haven't guessed yet, I'm a Theatre Major) is going to be a lot of work. The school is doing A Midsummer Nights Dream, and we are building the set and doing all the lighting and sound. Fun though!

Math is exciting. Yeah. Notice my lack of exclamation points. Yip. Eee.

I am also taking a class that is just for freshmen, called FOCUS. My Focus leaders are hilarious and everyone in the class is funny and friendly- in Focus. (I crack myself up with odd jokes! Sorry!) The class basically teaches us what we need to know to be "good" college students. AND HOW TO HANG OUT AND HAVE FUN! Uh . . . not really. . .

That is just a basic outline, sorry to bore you to death. Leave me a line and I'll talk to any and all of you lucky-people-who-found-my-blog later. :')

~Katalina

Quick!
Hola ---
Sorry, but this is going to be rushed. Everyone is having internet trouble here at school. Mine doesn't even work! Plus we were herded around like ducks from one activity to the next. Today was our first day of classes. Not bad . . . I was really looking forward to it and I still (kinda) am. Right now I'm using my RA's computer, she's soooooooooo nice!! I love all the girls in my hall and we hang out pretty often. Southern Cal was having a heat wave while freshmen orientation was going on. It got up to almost a hundred and 25 with humidity! Yesterday there was a thunderstorm and the day before a pretty good earthquake that shook the dorms. Hopefully I'll survive the next year of my life . . .
Well, gotta go! When things settle down I'll post a wee bit more.

~Katalina

Two Days!!

As you can all see from my title (unless you are blind) I leave in two days! I only have 2 small boxes packed and they contain books and CD's and movies. Boy! I sound shallow.  But with the Memorial service yesterday and all the relatives that came out, I just found no time. Although I did do all my shopping for the dorm.  <--- I like that wink WAY better than *wink*!

So today I am at some random person’s house using their internet. Never met them before, never even seen them. I sneaked in and am sitting at their table with a cup of cocoa pebbles. I feel no twinge of regret either. They are not home, I checked the beds.

And if you believe that, I'm a monkey's Uncle! As if I would ever do something like that!

Well it’s sorta true . . . I’ll just let you ask if you really want to know.

TAG TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just a warning, this is a wee bit long.

1.    WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE?  Of course I was!

2. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED? On Monday, when my grandpa died.

3. DO YOU LIKE YOUR HANDWRITING? Oh yes, don’t you? I write with italics.

4. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LUNCH MEAT? Turkey, baby! Ham is for floosies. Did I spell floozy right? Spell check said it was spelled with the “Z”.

5. DO YOU HAVE KIDS? Nada. Seeing as I am not even married yet, I’d say that is a good thing.

6. IF YOU WERE ANOTHER PERSON WOULD YOU BE FRIENDS WITH YOU? Only if the other person’s name was Apolo Anton Ohno. That was random!

7. DO YOU USE SARCASM A LOT? Oh no. I am never sarcastic.

8. DO YOU STILL HAVE YOUR TONSILS? yeS with a capital S!

9. WOULD YOU BUNGEE JUMP?  Heck yes I would!

10. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CEREAL?
Good ol’ Cheerios. We were never allowed to eat sugar cereal and even if I did now I still like Cheerios the best.

11. DO YOU UNTIE YOUR SHOES WHEN YOU TAKE THEM OFF?
Not usually…especially if they are my flip flops.

12. DO YOU THINK YOU ARE STRONG?
As an ox! EVERYONE knows that.

13. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ICE CREAM?
I like almost every single ice cream there is except Rocky Road. I had a bad experience . . .

14. WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE ABOUT PEOPLE? They’re alive!!!

15. RED OR PINK? Red or pink what? Oh, roses? Red.

16. WHAT IS THE LEAST FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOURSELF? My nose. I keep trying to get resigned to it. Notice the word “keep”.

17. WHO DO YOU MISS THE MOST? Not telling.

18. DO YOU WANT EVERYONE TO SEND THIS BACK TO YOU? E-mail Q!

19. WHAT COLOR PANTS AND SHOES ARE YOU WEARING? Brown, brown and brown. With a little white and black thrown in. I like brown!

20. WHAT WAS THE LAST THING YOU ATE?  Sorry to disappoint, but I ate a pretty lousy banana. No green on it whatsoever.

21. WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO RIGHT NOW?  I was listening to the Jay-dubs (Jehovah’s Witness’) at our door a minute ago. I had to go rescue my sister from their clutches!

22. IF YOU WHERE A CRAYON, WHAT COLOR WOULD YOU BE? Who would ever choose to be a crayon? If I was enchanted into it I’d ask to be blue. But crayons can’t talk. And the enchantress would probably not let me be blue anyway just for spite.

23. FAVORITE SMELLS? Good food cooking or baking in the kitchen, clean, wet laundry while I’m hanging it on the clothesline, and those few, rare roses that smell spicy and wild and deep.

24. WHO WAS THE LAST PERSON YOU TALKED TO ON THE PHONE?  A Wachovia agent for my student loan. Seriously!

25. DO YOU LIKE THE PERSON WHO SENT THIS TO YOU? Uh…sure. At the moment it escapes me who sent this. Oh! E-mail Q.

26. FAVORITE SPORTS TO WATCH? Futball! Or rather, soccer, as us U.S.Aers call it. And Gymnastics and Ice Skating. And I’ll throw ballroom dancing in because they’ll tell you it’s a sport.

27. HAIR COLOR?  I’m a gonna say “Dark Blonde”.

28. EYE COLOR? I’m a gonna say, “Dark Blue”.

29. DO YOU WEAR CONTACTS? Should I? What are you getting at…?

30. FAVORITE FOOD? “Poetry is the food of love.” Except you can’t eat poetry. I’ll just say cold leftover pizza. Bring on the grub!

31. SCARY MOVIES OR HAPPY ENDINGS? I HATE scary movies!!!! But does that mean I have to like all the other movies with happy endings? As long as it’s a good ending I’m satisfied.

32. LAST MOVIE YOU WATCHED? Balto, finally. My sister and I were dying to watch it again after years of separation. (Us and Balto-not me and my sister).

33. WHAT COLOR SHIRT ARE YOU WEARING? Didn’t I answer this? It’s not camo. You can see it.

34. SUMMER OR WINTER?  Olympics? That is a hard question . . .yes, very difficult. I can’t answer right now or I might keel over.

35. HUGS OR KISSES?  They are both Chocolate. Enough said.

36. FAVORITE DESSERT?  Cheesecake, snicker doodles, spice cake, cream cheese pound cake, Sherbet, etcetera . . .

37. MOST LIKELY TO RESPOND? Respond to my beauty? No one.

38. LEAST LIKELY TO RESPOND? My dead guinea pig.

39. WHAT BOOK ARE YOU READING NOW? “New Hampshire Weddings” My grandma forced me to read it.

40. WHAT IS ON YOUR MOUSE PAD? Scratched wood grain.

41. WHAT DID YOU WATCH ON T.V. LAST NIGHT?  KOVR13 News with “CALL KURTIS!!” With a name like Kurtis Ming you would think he was Asian.

42. FAVORITE SOUND? Who in the whole world has a favorite sound?! When other people answer these they don’t go “Oh! A chance to write down my favorite sound for the entire world to know.” They think about it forever and put down the best thing that comes to mind.

43. ROLLING STONES OR BEATLES? Well . . .rolling stones don’t usually get into your house like beatles do. I’d have to go with the rolling stones. Are they extinct?

44. WHAT IS THE FARTHEST YOU HAVE BEEN FROM HOME? Virginia Beach, Virginia. They have a lame boardwalk compared to Santa Cruz!

45. DO YOU HAVE A SPECIAL TALENT? Everyone is special. Which is another way of saying no one is. (!) Mrs. Incredible spoke pearls of wisdom to her small, quick son that fateful day. Ah Mrs. Incredible, little did you know the terror that would soon wreck havoc on your life.

46. WHERE WERE YOU BORN? In a hospital.  Too bad I don’t have one of those stories about getting born under a bridge or something.

47. WHOSE ANSWERS ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO GETTING BACK? Oooh! This is one of those e-mail Q. If it pertained to me, I would have answered: “A collection of Russian Nesting Dolls.”

48. WHAT TIME IS IT NOW? WHAT DO YOU MEAN, WHAT TIME IS IT NOW!!!!! YOU HAVE A CLOCK, LOOK FOR YOURSELF!!!!!!

I am done answering questions. It is now time to post this Uber long tag.

Rules - You can get rid of the e-mail questions if you want, and you have to tag at least 3 people! :-)

I will not tag anyone who does not wish to be tagged. I also refuse to do any tag I don’t want to. Just so you know!

Signing off-

~Katalina

News

Ladies and gentleman, I wish to tell you the reason for my not posting recently.  On Monday my grandfather died at the age of 73. He was another cancer victim of the many in the world. While at the hospital, my grandmother looked at us grandchildren and said gently but firmly “your generation better find a cure for this.”  Is there a cure for it?

My mother was driving back and forth from our house to the hospital, about an hour and a half drive, all week.  And I was taking care of things at home. I leave for college this coming Monday, and our lives are hectic at the moment. I am practicing the hymn “Be Thou My Vision” with my friend and my sister for the funeral. I will play the piano, my sister will sing and my friend will play guitar.  One of my favorite verses is the third:

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,

Thou mine inheritance, now and always:

Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,

High King of heaven, my treasure Thou art.

Thou and Thou only.

It is true that all we need is God. And God alone.

But sometimes it’s nice to have your grandpa too.

I’d better go. I have a ton of things to finish today. I also have a lovely tag to do, so hopefully I’ll get around to it later. . .

Okay . . . No One Forced Me To Do This One.

Hello fair people of the blogging sphere! It is a beautiful morning here in California. Sunny and fairly warm. Today is a day of luxury . . . for me . . . sorry to disappoint if you thought I meant you. Although, it could be for you too. . . I just meant me. Moving on!

I am going to Santa Cruz with a gaggle of friends to laze at the beach and ride the thrilling rides at the Boardwalk. I love Santa Cruz!!! I like it even better when we get to go to the Boardwalk! If Thomas (thector87) and Ben (DeusPrimus) are reading this they will be mad as a hornet at me. Let us all hope (for my sake) that they do not. I dislike hornets.

O.K! So school is coming up fast. I leave on Aug. 27th and I just met my roomate over the internet. Scary beyond all reason!! -Not my roomate, just the thought of living with a practically total stranger.          Hey Chris! If you're reading this I'm leaving a "Holla" for you since you were nice enough to do it for me on your blog when I had none. (And I was perfectly fine without one. Thank you very much! Blogging against my will is certainly, mostly true. Now I have to update it!)

Well, TTFN

I Am Even Forced To Write This First Blog!
I would like to take this moment to say: "I never really thought I would be doing this!" it is all my "best" friend's fault. I am going away to college -the dreaded word- and need a way to communicate with my family, friends, and other strange people who might happen onto this spot.
Have no fear! I really am homeschooled, or was, rather, and now embark on the next part of my education - Public School!

TTFN (Ta Ta For Now)
