A Day in the Life...

Jan. 6, 2006 - The van is fixed!

Well, today was not the most productive day in my life but I did get some things accomplished!

-the van got fixed (transmission problems) and now switches gears easily
-boxes of clothes on our porch were packed up for delivery to Goodwill
-front yard cleaned up during our warm spell
-daughter #4 got all signed up for her new paper route
-daughter #3 went to her violin class (20 minute lesson once a week and 50 minute class with other orchestra students every day)
-I got a long and luxurious bath that took care of a headache and growing nausea (we've all been battling a stomach virus)
-I have been listening to my older 3 children "ha-ha-ha-ing" working toward hyperventilation for the past 5 minutes!
-along with all of the regular daily duties
-I took 3 naps during the day - unheard of!

Since Kevin has gotten his c-pap machine (he has sleep apnea - in his sleep study he stopped breathing no less than 20 times per hour and never entered the last 2 sleep levels) I have been sleeping much longer but finding myself VERY exhausted.  For the past 2 years I've been sleeping 4-5 hours each night and that has been very interrupted sleep at best.  Now that the nighttime symphony has stopped, I am sleeping much more solidly but my poor body is beginning to realize that it has really been sleep depraved!  I have been functioning for the past years but am dealing with severe exhaustion now as my body begins to seek the healing that God brings to us during sleep that I've been missing!  Kevin is noticing the same for him as he has been sleeping 9 hours this break.  But getting used to his machine has been more restless than restful for him.  I'm just hoping that my body will finish its adjusting by Monday when I'm back up to being up early (for me).

Talked with my dear friend in CA tonight...it is always such a sweet time of refreshment when I talk with her!  Our friendship has always been so easy, like-minded in so many areas but with respect for each others differences. Why is it that so much time goes by before we touch base with those dear friends who no longer live nearby?  I guess it is because I lose track of how fast time is flying by! What a joy heaven will be - always sharing that sweet fellowship with one another through all eternity! (after those first 1,000 years of sleep, that is! Since to God, 1,000 years is as a day, I won't be missing out on too much in Glory during my 'nap'!!!)
