I have delayed posting the birth center wish list because I really want to do everything I can to collect the needed resources for this awesome program. Haitian women are not respected or treated well in their counrty. This applies to when they give birth as well. Women in Haiti still die needlessly in childbirth and this is common not rare. Here we have the opportunity to provide a place for women to come and birth in the loving care of other women who love them, their child, and the process itself.
So, I need your help. This is about more than sending out a wish list. I ask any of you who might know a Midwife, Childbirth Educator, Le Leche League Leader, Doctor supportive of midwiferycare to tell them about this program and ask if they can help. This program needs more than supplies, it needs skilled midwives who want to teach skills, equiptment to operate properly, and the wish list items.
Here is what I am going to do: Soon I am going to be sending out a letter to everyone I know working in the childbirth field explaining the program and asking if they have something to offer. I will post this letter because it will give you many of the details I have not highlighted here. You may copy it, putting in your own information to send it to the people you know.
I thank you in advance for anything and all that you do. Here is the wish list.
