It's A Wonderful Life

"Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life." Proverbs 4:13

What kind of homeschooler?

I am copying this from Snuffsgirl who copied it from JacqueDixonSoulRestES

1. What type of homeschooler are you? Eclectic, Classical & Charlotte Mason

2. Do you plan? to a degree and then I wing it :)  I plan like 6 months before the new school year starts and then I take it from there.

3. Do you use a specific curriculum or a conglomeration? A conglomeration (hence the Eclectic).  I use Math U See for math, currently trying R&S for spelling for 3rd grade and First Language Lessons for 1st.....anyway if you scroll down or go to the next page you should see my plan for this year.

4. Do you make it up yourself? Yes and no

5. Where do you homeschool, desks, table, everywhere? Everywhere, we have an official schoolroom/office with a desk and maps on the wall and of course bookshelves and art supply cabinet, but that is mostly just a room to keep the stuff in.  We usually end up in the living room on the sofa!

6. What are you excited about doing this year? I am excited about everything.  I am so used to focusing mostly on one child, but my 2nd dd is now in first grade so its going to be tricky trying to balance in her and keep the 2 boys entertained as well.

7. Do you multi-grade teach or teach to their levels? This year I will be doing a combination of both....science & history will be multilevel (and maybe art, Health and Latin) and the rest of the subjects to their level

8. School Schedule...Except for science on tuesdays  & thursdays and history in M,W, F  I havent figured out a specific schedule.  We usually do math first.

# 5 is me...We used Charlotte Mason style when they were younger, we had a deer stand for us for 15 minutes once while we frantically traced it...that was the only wildlife that stayed still that long...we read outloud tons and tons and tons, now we read outloud it's just more specific to what were learning. I think I'm going to read outloud until they enter college....poor kids. LOL

You made it so we can't post comments on the homestead blog, but that's ok it keeps me from posting every which way! I'm an 80's kid, I couldn't believe it either! I figured 90's, oh well.

:-)

It's interesting to find out when others are starting school and to see "how" you homeschool. Thanks for leaving me a comment!

We DO sound similar!

Thanks for coming over to my blog, I am glad to meet you! Let's check in and see how each other are doing with our similar curriculum choices... I will put you on my friends list, ok?
Take care!
