I kinda took a little trip to the hospital this week.
hehe. Yeah... I'm fine. Was just quite dehydrated.
And my battle scar is the bruise from the IV.  JOY. O_o

To the post....

Ok... what sparked this whole debate was something that I
noticed Messenger had written on her blog. It said:

So, is it possible that Christians can turn away and not go to heaven?  I believe so.
Let me share another story.

My grandpa, one of Pop's sons, was a Christian in his high school years.  My dad says he's read his journals and said that when Grandpa was in his teens, he was really on fire for God.  You could really tell he was filled with the Holy Spirit.
He went to college and ended up getting into drinking and going down the wrong road, which lead downhill fast.  He's now really into Eastern religion, hates Christians and the American government, and is so far from where he once was it's crazy.

Is he still going to heaven?  I don't think so.  (Unless our prayers finally break through and he realizes he needs to get right with God).  I don't think that if you turn from God you are still going to heaven.  It's not just about saying a prayer then continuing to live your life.  It's about living your life God's way.  And yes, we will make mistakes, but being a Christian doesn't mean you're perfect.

Ok... so the thing that came up was...
Can you really lose your salvation?

I believe you can't.

Now... I'm not going to post our whole convo.

It started with Messanger sending me the Parable of the Sower.
It can be found in
What she said about this was:
"Jesus is saying there that it is possible to lose your salvation. If a man receives the Word, but does not have a strong foundation, he could quickly "fall away". "

I wrote her back explaining that she had interpreted this passage wrong.
What it really meant was:
"The person in verse 21 isn't really saved. It says that he received the word but that doesn't mean he was saved because the person in verse 19 also received the word but he obviously was not saved.
Therefore he couldn't of fallen away"

So once we had that cleared up she had sent me some verses.
I'll post them all here then tell you what I think of them.

“And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.”
Matthew 10:22

It’s pretty obvious here when he says: “he that endureth to the end shall be saved.”
The next verse says the same:

“And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”
Matthew 24:12-13


“Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draws back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.”
Hebrews 10:38

That verse is being spoken by God. Not only does it say that faith is what it takes to follow God, it also states that God’s soul will not have pleasure in the man that draws back.

The problem with the first two verse was that they were taken
out of context. And Hebews 10:38 means:
If you are saved (the just) than you will live by faith.
If any man draws back and never returns to God, then
he wasn't even saved in the first place.
Therefore, God has no pleasure in him.

Another this that Messanger went me was:
Anyone who believes Jesus is Lord and that He saved us from our sins and confesses that, is saved.
But, as John 15:6 says, "If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned."
The fire is hell. There, he says REMAIN, which must mean that there was a beginning, and he states that if the branch does not remain, "such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned."

The problem with this verse is that it isn't a salvation verse.
It doesn't relate to what we are talking about.
It does seem that way but it doesn't.

Now some verses that I found were:
Isaiah 51:6 says "... But my salvation will last forever, my righteousness will never fail."

Hebrews 5:8-9 - "Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; and being made perfect, He became the author of ETERNAL SALVATION unto all them that obey him."

"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; AND NO ONE WILL SNATCH THEM OUT OF MY HAND. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand" (John 10:27-29)

"Truly, truly, I say to you, He that hears my word, and believes on him that sent me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death to life." (John 5:24)

"All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day." (John 6:37-40)

John 3:16 -- “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have EVERLASTING LIFE.”

 
John 10:27-29 says, "... I will give them ETERNAL LIFE; and they will NEVER PERISH, and NO ONE will snatch them out of my hand."

So... I'll stop here because I dont' want this to get to long.
