Welcome to my blog on topics about keeping the home - or attempting to - as a Gen X Mom of four and wife to one. :) This blog is written by me, Lori Seaborg, from the Florida-Alabama Gulf Coast. I'm not the person who is ahead of you in mothering and homemaking knowledge. I'm just the gal right beside you, motivating the 11yo daydreamer, keeping up with the 9yo future homemaker extraordinaire (every mama needs a helper like this one!), teaching the rascally 6-year-old while occupying the 3yo. Let's learn together!
We are heading on vacation tomorrow morning, so I may not be my chatty self for the next 10 days. I'm hoping that at least one of the relatives and friends that we stay with will be out of the Dark Ages and into the Internet! If so, I'll be sure to sign on.
First, we are going to Florence, Alabama to a "Time of Refreshment and Renewal", hosted by Cindy Rushton (another Homeschool Blogger) and her family and others. I have high expectations of this seminar. I need her perspective desperately.
We live at the VERY bottom of Alabama, on the Florida border and on the Gulf Coast. Tropical Storm Arlene is projected to strike our area while we are gone. The neighbors have been given permission to free the chickens if our river floods again. Here , at the bottom of the page with dates of April 1-5 (read from the bottom up) are photos and blog posts of what happened last time it flooded. My chickens looked so funny!
(p.s. If you join one local science museum, and if it is in the ASTC, you can get FREE admission to all other ASTC museums, which includes the 3 above, plus many more.)
Well, girl...get ready! God is already at work here in our midst! This is one time (do I say this EVERY TIME???) that I cannot wait to see what he does! It is going to be precious!
Well, better get to bed...need that beauty rest!
Love ya!
Cindy...who cannot wait to see you! Wooohooo!
Well I suppose you're off enjoying a fabulous vacation, but I tagged you before I realized you were gone. You can check the questions on my blog when you get back and get with the game then if you want. Have a great vacation!
Nancy
Hey, you are up in my neck of the woods. When you are in Chicago watching all of those planes fly over, just remember, I'm just right on the other side of O'Hare Airport in Elk Grove Village.
You asked me for healthy food tips for your trip - It's been crazy here with showers, grad parties and 2 kids off to camp 6/12 so I haven't been available.
Thanks for the suggestion, I will work on that!
Enjoy the Chicago heat - it's been AWFUL this year, and so soon!
