Esther's Birth Story...

Well she has finally arrived!!! I will now tell y'all the story...

On Wednesday at 11:00 am I had a doctors appointment, well,  first they get to me late...at, 11:40.  Then  he checks me and says I am NOT dialated. One doctor says I am 1 cen. another says none!?! Go figure!

BUT...Guess what on the way to my car after the appointment, well I "thought" I wet my panties a bit and then a bit more and then a bit more!  So I went across the street to a Food Lion and went to the bathroom to empty my bladder, thinking that would solve my problem. Well, it didn't! About 7 minutes later, it did it again!! Well I went on home and got something to eat and changed my clothes. I called the doctors office and they said I better get to the hospital NOW!!!!!

Well I did NOT hurry, I knew I had time, so I took care of a few things and then got the girls together and headed there at 3:30 pm! Well when I got there I was not dialated and was having NO contractions. They waited till 7:30 pm and said they needed to put me on a small dose of poticom, {probably spelled that wrong!} to get my contractions started.  Well by 9:30 pm they started happening, not to bad at first, but by 10:30 and 11:00 pm they were full going!!!!!!  And hurting!

At 2:00 am I called the nurse and said I did not think I could take it anymore I was in SUCH pain and the contractions were back to back. She said she would check me, well she did and said I was 8 centimeters, so I said I could wait then. But by 2:30 am I was shaking the hand rails I was in SUCH SUCH pain! I called her again and she checked me again and said, "Oh I'm sorry you are only 3 centimeters and it will be a while." So I said to give me something in my IV cause I can NOT go much longer with the severe pain I was in. She gave me something and told me to call her if I felt like pushing. Well it helped me relax a bit and I dosed for a short time, TILL I awoke to feeling the need to push, so I did. I knew I needed to call the nurse, but after the pushing sensation stopped I nodded back out. This continued for about 45-50 minutes till the nurse came in. I was so drugged up that I looked at her and said  dopely, "I'm glad your here!" She said why? I said, "Cause I've been pushing!" She said no don't do that, I said, "Wellllllll I can't help it." {Dopely again!} She called for another nurse and the doctor and tried to keep stopping me from pushing everytime I came to! Well when the doctor got there, I told him, as he was putting his gloves on, I am going to push again. He said no I said Yes! So they hurried and I pushed, I could feel her head either out or almost out.

Well then they tell me to push, but I wasn't having the urge to push, but they kept telling me to push! I was getting angry and so I pushed and I could feel her coming out! But I had a short cord, so they could only put her on my bottom belly. I told them NO early cord clamping or cleaning her. Well the doctor waited for about 4-5 minutes and was getting angry at me and said okay thats long enough and clamped the  cord. The I KNOW they cleaned her a bit, cause she looked one way when she was on my belly and another way after they weighed her and put a diaper on her and handed her back to me. I was very angry at them and at Roy for not helping me and making them respect my wishes. He even took a picture of me and boy you could tell I was MAD!!!!

Then I had a time with the no eye stuff and no needles, etc. They did what I said, but I was given alot of looks and aggravated looks towards me. {It sure is hard when you are alone, with NO one standing by you and your decisions you make!!!

The they took her down stairs, with me right there beside them, TILL they went in the nursery and I had to watch through the glass, to give a state manditory???? Pricking of the heel and taking blood, refused it, but they said it is MANDITORY!!! So I watched them prick her and her scream and the nurse squeezing her foot till it turned purple trying to get blood and pricking her again, till she got enough. The nurse knew I was about to smash throughg that glass window, I then told one of the other walking by nurses, to get me the head nurse, she said ,"What is it, can I help you?" I said Yes, get me the head nurse, NOW!!!!!!  Well she called her and I demanded my baby back NOW and she told the nurse to wheel her out and give her to me. I went to my room and told that nurse I want to go home NOW!  Well I was allowed and I was SO glad to get out of there! I HATE hospitals and most ALL that are in them!!! I left the hospital at 1:30 pm on Friday!

I am thankful to have my beautiful baby girl, Esther! She is SO sweet and such a good baby! Thank you for all your prayers! And if you can have your baby at home with a mid-wife, I would advise it, to EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so proud of you trying so hard to protect your baby when the whole world was against you.

Reading your birth story I had my mouth covered with my hand in shock reading your story. Thinking of your doctor made me think things about him that I should not of thought... jerk. I think I read the average baby takes 7 minutes to get all the blood so she may of gotten all of it or most of it.

And I hate to say this but I think they lied to you about the mandatory part. I just had a baby in July and it was not mandatory for me. Shame on those doctors.

I do have to say you are stronger than most women I know. Your baby is absolutely precious and cute. I am sure your girls will be delighted with her. And just think, she is part of your "heritage" from the Lord... And lo children are an heritage of the Lord... I think I got that right off the top of my head. You know what I mean. ;) And now that you are trying to live right before God you have a great opportunity to train her in the ways of the Lord more than any of your other children have had. You have this one to start on from the beginning.
