Kaitlin attends a monthly meeting called Keepers of the Home, where she and ten other homeschool girls get together and learn all the lost arts of "ladyhood." Some of the things they have learned this year are calligraphy, flower arranging, story telling, origami, soap making, etc. To celebrate the end of the year, and all that the girls have learned. we had an English High Tea, where the girls exchanged tea cups and shared a talent (such as piano, violin, dance etc.) with the group. Here are some of the pictures of our tea. What a truly touching experience, and one we will remember for many years.

Our daughter had her Keepers At Home reception this afternoon. It was a family event where we presented each girl with her pins for the year and displayed some of their projects. And we ended with refreshments. They also had a tea one day for their meeting. They had loads of fun.
Have a blessed day! Tami

Oh how fun!
My daughters had the opportunity to go to a tea when we were on vacation in Williamsburg. It was the highlight of the trip.

Oh this gathering looks like so much fun! I wanted to host something like that, calling it a "tea" but wasn't sure hwo to get it off the ground!
Keep up the good work!

That is such a neat program for Kaitlin to do. That would be a good idea to look into for Holly and some the other girls around that age. Society is too often telling these young girls that it isn't "cool" to be a lady anymore. We have to teach our daughters that it is wonderful to be a lady.
I hope you have a Happy Mother's Day!!!

So I'm thinking that it's been WAY too long since I've seen you. I don't remember you looking like the woman on your blog!! (And didn't I just see you last week?! LOL!)
I actually met Josh McDowell a few years back. It was at a flea market in (are you ready for this?......) Moscow, Russia!! Pretty bad when you have to go 3/4 the way around the world to meet someone! I happened to be there on a mission trip at the same time he was there on a mission trip. (Completely independantly--we didn't know he was there, and he had no reason to know we were there...) Talk about a small world!

You are so right Karen . . .I do NOT look like the woman who is pictured on my blog, but . . . I was captured by this picture and thought it would be a good fit. I love the way her body expression is toward home (toward her Heavenly Father) in reverant worship, and a place of vulnerability. It really touched me. That is how I long to be . . . vulnerable before my Lord. If I were to place my real picture up there it may be a bit distracting from the main theme of the site. Ummm, definately not a Jenny Craig blog (LOL). ;-)
Thanks for stopping by and sharing about your run-in with an author. What an amazing world traveler you are my friend.

Just for the record, you are way more beautiful than that picture. I agree, it's a great photo, but it's just a photo. You are the real thing.
