The Girl Looking Out
By Kelly (KSM) copyright 2004
She looks past the mass and into the heart;
She hears the intentions and thoughts spouting out.
A gift that is hard to bear for many;
But especially for one looking out.
They can see her, but she cannot see them,
For she looks past facades in a box.
They think she is blind, but they really don’t know;
She is really a girl looking out.
Who is this girl that thinks she can see,
Past the faces complex and masked tight;
She tenderly stares at their hearts unaware,
And focus' herself on the light.
She lovingly embraces the moods and the faces,
Of the spectators who callously doubt;
That she has any clue to their thoughts hidden cruel,
Of the package she carries about.
To her she is whole, without scar and ill-intent,
Her joy is revealed in a shout;
She has learned to look in, past the condition of sin;
As a girl who is whole, looking out..
“The Girl Looking Out” Description: This is about a girl who looks past people’s outer exterior and is given discernment into the intents of their hearts. They don’t realize who she is because they are too busy looking at the way she looks on the outside. She is as one on the inside looking out. She is not blinded by the prejudice of outward appearance.
1 Samuel 16:7
But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart.
