Seeking Truth About Homeopathy and Colloidal Silver
Posted in Health and Nutrition
The other day my daughter was sick, and I had the choice of either going to the doc and getting her some antibiotics or going to the health food store and getting a natural antiviral/antibacterial agent that would take care of it. Since we do not currently have health insurance and are on a budget, we decided to try the health food store first. What we ended up getting is something called colloidal silver.
HERE is the Wikipedia description of it.
Well what is interesting is that my dd was immediately feeling better after taking the colloidal silver for a few days. Which is almost miraculous considering she could barely move off of the couch for two days and then on Saturday she played three games of soccer at her tournament without any problem . I was thinking . . wow, God is really working through this natural product.
So here is my question . . . what are the spiritual properties of this alternative mix? I had a friend warn me of this product (afterwards) and lovingly, but openly shared with me the spiritual dangers of using colloidal silver and homeopathy. At first I thought she was a bit over-the-top, but then as she explained it to me it made sense. Here is what she wrote (I know it is long, but worth the read):
"I was introduced to homeopathy about 9 years ago and increased my use of this method when I became sick with rheumatoid arthritis. I was challenged by an acquaintance that this practice was new age. I didn't appreciate it at the time or do anything about it for awhile but never forgot what she had said.
A short while later we were confronted with the New Age in our church. We had been asked to be a part of a team to bring in spiritual transformation (contemplative prayer). We starting having some red flags regarding things that people were saying and then one day we heard Jan Markell's radio show and they confirmed in a BIG way that we were being brought into a deceptive ministry that is sweeping through the churches at an incredible pace. (We have several copies of the radio guests book A Time of Departing by Ray Yungen. I would love to give you a copy.) Any way as we learned more about the new age and it's basis on the metaphysical and the idea that we can be one with each other and the universe we started to rethink the concepts behind alternative medicine and how they are so similar. dh and I prayed and researched for over a year and then were confronted with a situation at church that forced us to pick up our pace and deal with this issue.
We found several things:
1. Science does not support it (colloidal silver). There have been numerous studies and none of them showed it to be effective. Some people balk at science yet one article I read said that if we accepted the explanation of how it worked we would have to admit that it went against some basic laws of how the universe works.
2. The man who invented it Samuel Hahnemann was adamantly opposed to the work of Jesus Christ. He also stated that the remedy works based on the manipulation of a life force. He said there is nothing left of the origional substance but when you shake it, it becomes more potent and activates this force. He believes it works on a spiritual level NOT a physical one.
3. This "force" is the same force that we had been confronted with in contemplative prayer as people are told to repeat a word or phase (mantra) over and over and to empty their minds of all thoughts so that they can hear from God.
This force is the same force as in eastern religions. It goes by many names; chi, yin and yang, prana, etc... They believe that by balancing this force you can heal your body, and become one with each other and the universe. They believe that everything vibrates at a certain frequency and we can become attuned to that frequency and to God, thus God is in everything and in everyone. We just need to get in tune with him. It is like a state of nirvana. Same idea as meditation (yoga). I know many Christians think this is o.k. as long as they focus on Jesus but that is not the case. Kundalini is who they will have talking with them. (There is a new video on this subject that I have heard is good.)
Scripture says in Matthew 7 that a bad tree cannot produce good fruit. A man who adamantly opposes Jesus Christ is a bad tree. Ecclesiastes 10 also says that if you start with a foolish premise that you will end up with wicked madness. It has been documented that Hahnemann was intrigued by Eastern Mysticism and modeled homeopathy after it. According to scripture there is no way that God would bless this endeavor and have it be the next best thing.
"You shall be blameless before the Lord your God. For those nations, which you shall dispossess, listen to those who practice witchcraft and to diviners, but as for you, the Lord your God has not allowed you to do so." Deuternomy 18:13-14
This for us was a more difficult endeavor as we have spent the last 5 years studying and connecting with others to help those influenced by the new age. It is infiltrating every aspect of our lives and Ray Yungen does an excellent job of stating why he believes it is the great apostasy of the end times. It will go a long way in uniting the east and the west. When so many are listening to this god, certainly the message will be similar for all. Many, even the elect, are being led astray. Satan is masquerading as an angel of light. People are having good experiences as they go into this silence or as they practice alternative medicine (not all is bad but there are definately many forms that are for example Reiki clearly manipulates this life force). Anything that is manipulating an invisible force I would be concerned about states Brian Flynn, a former new age medium, who also says that what is happening is that people are having an experience, the experience is good, and therefore they believe that is must be from God." To that we can apply Exodus 7:11 "Then Pharaoh also called for the wise men and the sorcerers, and they also, the magicians of Egypt, did the same with their secret art."
God praises the Bereans who examined the scriptures carefully. We need a great deal of discernment for the times that we live are evil. Praise the Lord this isn't our home!!!
"But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; abstain from every form of evil." 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22
"Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world." 1 John 4:1

We will be meeting with our friends next week to discuss this topic further, but wondered what your thoughts were on this topic? I would love to hear, as we are still trying to figure this whole thing out. Have you used colloidal silver before? What is your experience with homeopathy?

I have been doing some research on this topic today after reading this here. From what I read, I would stay as far from this type of "healing" as you can possibly get. It appears to be very occultic and witch craft like. I even looked into the background of the inventor of this type of "healing", C. F. Samuel Hahnemann, and was very disturbed at what I found. I'm not going to post it because I really don't want people leaving the comments on my blog. But I would definately stay away from this type of healing.
God be with you,
Debby

Kelly is spunky, very unconventional at times, fun to talk with, my best friend, and an incredible Mom and mentor to our dd. She is not afraid
to lovingly hear from and tell people the truth when it is required, and is a true covenant friend. She is passionate about her relationship with the Lord, justice and righteousness, and you may see that in
our blog. She loves people deeply, and sometimes gets hurt because of it - wearing her heart on her sleeve. Hearing her talk on the phone, laugh and have fun with her friends
always makes me grin from the other room. She has great JOY!

"The truth is, if we claim Christ, we are never justified in being unkind,
cold, indifferent, or cruel. Even if true serious sin needs to be addressed or dealt with,
it should be in love, and love is kind, gentle, long-suffering, it seeks to elevate others,
it is hopeful, assumes the best, etc. .."
~ Jen Igarashi in her post from June 14th, 2007 "I Wanna Be A Buffalo"
"As parent educators, we need to embrace a new notion of learning.
We need to help the child discern the Lords will and equip him to answer his particular call. It is the
heart and soul of the child we want to touch. For our purposes, we need to engage the heart in order to
effectively educate the child. Our vision of a well-educated child is a child who has a heart for learning,
a child who has the tools he needs to continue to learn for a lifetime and the love to want to do it."
~ Edith Stein
"A blessed thing it is for any man or woman to have a friend,
one human soul whom we can trust utterly, who knows the best and worst of us, and who loves us in spite
of all our faults."
~ Charles Kingsley
"Knowing the past about a person doesn't make us prophetic,
but calling them into their future does! The question has never been, "Can we read the history of
a man?" The question has always been, "Can we restore the future of a man?" Anyone can read the history
of the man, but the Heart of the Father is to release the unfulfilled destiny of His broken children."
~ Denny Steyne Mountain of Worship
"Out of defeat can come the best in human nature. As Christians
face storms of adversity, they may rise with more beauty. They are like trees that grow on mountain
ridges -- battered by winds, yet trees in which we find the strongest wood."
~ Billy Graham
