MINI BLOG POLL ~ Is Music On A Blog Distracting Or Pleasant?

We weren't sure where to put this playlist, so before giving it an official home here on our blog we thought we'd ask you, our special bloggy friend, what you thought. Do you think music on blogs is distracting or a pleasant addition? Do you think people should have softer music only, or music that reflects their personalities?

Depending on responses we will either keep this pinky playlist, and find a special spot, or say bye bye to it. YOU PICK :-) We'll have this mini poll Open until the end of October. Thanks for your help. <>< Kelly

I love music as much as the next person...especially good Christian music. But music on blogs drives me crazy...especially when people hide the module. In fact, when someone hides the module, I don't even bother reading anything on the blog...I just close it.

Additionally, I think people fail to take into account that not everyone is on DSL or cable. When we were on dial-up, those kinds of modules really bogged me down. They really can slow a connection immensely.

Anyhow, that's just my .02.

I don't like blog music. I do find it distracting and I always immediately turn off my speakers, or, if I'm too lazy to reach over to the speakers, I just skip the blog entirely and immediately exit the window. THAT'S how much I really hate blog music.....

I also wanted to add that there is a pause button on this playlist for anyone who doesn't want to hear it. I have this same playlist and have had many people comment on how much they love it and several have added one to their blogs after seeing and hearing mine.

I love music. Especially music that lifts up the Lord. You should know I love to sing and do so at church on occasion so I am a bit biased on this subject:) Now I can understand if someone doesn't want to listen to it. I know that the music players have stop/pause buttons and to me that leaves the reader the choice. I think a persons music style is part of who they are ( at least it is a part of who I am) and helps the reader to get to know the blogger better:) Okay well I said enough. Be blessed.

I personally don't like to hear music on a blog. I end up turning down the volume. That way I can read in silence and others can still enjoy the music if they want to. This is just my personal preference. I do love Christian alternative music though!
