I had the wonderful privledge of writing this article, back in 2004 for an alumni magazine, and wanted to share it with you all as an encouragement, that if you are currently working in the marketplace and not in a position as minister within the church, that you are still ministering . . . just in a different way. Allow this article to transform the way we think of ministers into a new dimension of possibility. We know, because we are living in it. Let there no longer be boundaries between the church and the workplace. That is indeed New Testament Living. Enjoy :-)

“Walking In The Marketplace Anointing”
by Kelly (KSM), copyrighted 2004-2006
Suppose you had the chance to travel around the nation and see places you could only dream of, people you thought you’d never see, and minister to people you thought you’d never minister to? The finances are taken care of and it is simply your responsibility to listen closely to the voice of the Lord – going where He calls you to go. Your call is not that of a normal missionary, yet the goal is the same: (Isaiah 61:1-3) “He hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that HE might be glorified.” This is the call of every believer, in Christ Jesus, and this is the call of the corporate minister.
It is 8 a.m. on a Monday morning, 2004, and you are in an important meeting with two Senior Vice President’s and other executive staff members of one of the largest banking institutions in
God is strategically positioning and restoring many of His people within the corporate world and marketplace, giving them access into the hidden chambers of strategy, to influence the kings of this world; introducing them to the King of Kings and Lord of Lord’s. They will leap walls and fences of present day doctrines to open the eyes of the spiritually blind within the executive world. For it says in Philippians 2:10-11 (KJV), “Every knee should bow . . . and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.” The titans, kings, icons, strategists of the corporate world, will one day have to declare that Jesus Christ is Lord! Many believer’s disqualify themselves from this positioning within the world because, perhaps this area has been a bit of a taboo. Ventures within business may have previously been equated with greed, compromise in value, faithlessness and hunger for personal power. That is all changing! Many will see the favor of the Lord as they move into new realms of ministry outside the confines of traditional church. Moving where He calls them to move, and going where He calls them to go as corporate missionaries, and apostles invading the secular realm. Jesus role modeled this by reaching multitudes outside the confines of the religious systems of his day, so think it not strange when we start seeing signs, wonders and spiritual gifts being stirred up in the marketplace – taking church to new places. Employees who would never step foot in a church, and who may be imprisoned within their own towers of prestige and power will see those artificial walls crumble as God meets them, in their place of work. It is all part of His great commission to “go into ALL the world and preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:16).
We have had the wonderful opportunity to see God move in the corporate marketplace firsthand and are humbled, and in awe of God’s provision, as He allows us to walk in His destiny for us as corporate ministers. It has been a tremendous blessing to live in several different states in The US:
We want to encourage you that no matter where you have been called to minister, whether it encompass the boundaries of traditional ministry or not, God is more than able to qualify you and provide for that which He has called you to do. It is imperative that we do not limit Him by our titles, societal standing, education, doctrines and traditions, as we boldly step into the marketplace ministry.
