I just wanted to let you know about this opportunity.  A Water Watch Training Event is going to take place on Saturday, April 8^th at 9:30 am at the Cooperative Extension Service Winchester.  Lajuanda Haight-Maybriar will be instructing the course.  Kentucky Water Watch recruits volunteers to conduct a number of water quality tests to determine the health of streams. The data collected by the volunteers is used to help develop plans to enhance the streams for fishing, swimming, wildlife habitat and drinking water supply.   The sampling season usually consists of 3 sampling events spaced throughout the “recreation season”.   The sampling events for this year are scheduled for May 14^th, July 9^th, and September 9^th.  Dissolved oxygen, pH, turbidity, temperature, and conductivity are routinely measured.  If you or someone you know would like to “Adopt-A-Stream”, please attend the training event on April 8th.  Also, please forward this information to any other interested people.
