ANSWERS IN GENESIS HOMESCHOOL/YOUTH CONFERENCE
| Dear Fellow Homeschoolers,
We at Hill 'n Dale Christian Church want to invite you to an Answers in Genesis Homeschool/Youth Conference on Monday, October 12th. Answers in Genesis is a nonprofit ministry that helps Christians to fully understand creation and their faith as well as how to communicate the message to a culture that no longer believes the Bible to be true. The Answers in Genesis Ministry built the Creation Museum in Northern Kentucky where hundreds of thousands of visitors have experienced the wonder of God's creation.
On Monday, October 12, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.Tommy Miller will be presenting a series of talks especially for children and teens. Please see the attached schedule for full details. The cost of this conference is just one dollar for students six to eighteen, with parents and younger siblings free of charge. Lunch of a grilled hamburger or hotdog will be available for only one dollar as well. 9 am Doors Open
9:30 am WERE THERE DINOSAURS ON THE ARK? (ages 5-12)
This is a fast paced, entertaining discussion of dinosaurs and Noahs Ark. While primarily focused on the elementary grades, parents enjoy it just as much if not more than the children.
10:45 am HE MADE THE STARS ALSO (all ages)
This session discusses the vastness of space and the majesty of Gods creation. The worlds explanation of the origin of the sun, moon, and stars is contrasted to the clear teaching of Scripture. Many photos of celestial objects are used to illustrate the beauty of the heaven, all created by God on the fourth day.
11:45 am 12:55 pm LUNCH BREAK Drinks are provided free to everyone. You can reserve a lunch of a grilled hamburger or hot dog, chips and a cookie for $1 when you register or you may bring your lunch.
1 pm AFTER THEIR KIND (ages 11 and up)
This session illustrates the harmony of the Bible with real science and the real world we live in. Particular emphasis is given to an explanation of the created kinds and development of variety in the animal world as well as application of this information to the origin of differences in people groups.
2:15 pm DID ANYBODY HEAR A BIG BANG? (ages 11 and up)
This presentation deals with fossils, DNA, dating methods, the Big Bang, and other topics. The primary focus is the distinction between observational and historical science. The discussion helps to promote understanding of sound scientific method by viewing the world around us from the perspective of a literal Genesis.
3:30 pm DO YOU REALLY HAVE THE ANSWERS? (ages 11 and up)
This is a fast paced discussion of many of the most asked questions about creation/evolution. Area of discussion might include: where did Cain get his wife, the ice age, why there are so few human fossils, Intelligent Design, radiometric dating, etc.
ADDITONAL INFORMATION:
*The ages for the sessions are suggestions. You are welcome to attend any or all of them.
*You do not have to attend all the sessions.
*A room for nursing mothers and a changing table will be available.
