curriculum for Teleo Scouts
| My wife and I have been homeschooling our seven children for seventeen years, and we are passionate about a fathers role and influence in a well-rounded education, especially in regard to raising boys toward godly maturity and manhood.
We have observed that many dads are doing a terrific job at fulfilling their roles as leader and teacher while acknowledging that various approaches might be improved. Other dads struggle, for they simply have not yet discovered an effective approach to teaching their boys.
We have developed a very effective ministerial tool for dads called Teleo Scouts. Teleo is a Greek word which signifies completion and well-roundedness. Teleo Scouts is a way for like-minded men (usually between two and six) to get together with their sons to do cool activities that the men plan (activities with skills that the dads like to do and believe are worth passing down). Teleo Scouts is not a youth group, nor is it something dads have to do every week. In fact, most of the groups that are using it meet only once or twice a month on their own time.
The curriculum for Teleo Scouts is Made for Manhood, a book of seventeen character lessons ranging from Being Strong and Courageous to Treating Ladies Properly to Being a Man of Conviction. The complete chapter headings are included in the Question and Answer document which is attached for your consideration. Made for Manhood can also be used as an individual study for boys without a commitment to Teleo Scouts. We can send you free chapter samples via email upon your request.
