November Classes
Painting, sculpture, figure drawing, needlepoint, music making, beading, and so much more, all offered by professional artists and arts educators.

44. Bang! Sound or Noise?
Marcus Wilkerson
Experience first hand the excitement and wonder of sound. We'll build our own instruments, create our own music, and get connected through the emotional magic of melody! We'll learn the math and science connection to music too!

45. Expressive Figure Drawing: Mixed Media
Erica Meuser
Working with live models, we'll use graphite and watercolor on paper, and add dimension while exploring line, shape and contour, to draw the human figure.

46. Needlepoint Fun
Donna Eads
Needlepoint is fun, social and rewarding. You can decorate for Christmas with beautiful handmade ornaments, make a statement with your own custom designed belt or even stitch a rug. We will learn the basic stitch and a few decorative stitches. Have fun, relax, and socialize over a wonderfully satisfying craft.

Explore the world of beads by using them to make models of your family members. We will then turn the creations into a mobile for all to enjoy.

48. Exploring and Creating Abstractions
Jenny Conatser
Get ready to explore the endless possibilities of abstract art through two approaches. Using design, color, shape, and form we will create our own non-representational work of art. And, on the more representational side of abstract, we'll choose something from everyday life and distort it using collage, paint, and layering of other materials.

49. Bilingual Boogie Beats
Amy Olson
Children and their parents or caregivers will use their imagination, dance, and play rhythmic instruments while singing songs in both English and Spanish. Please feel free to bring a yoga mat or small rug to sit on.

50. Painting...A Gift
Cynthia Ryan Kelly
We will take a quick journey through rich periods of art history to learn about the visual world and methods artists have employed to express their vision. Using watersoluable materials on varied surfaces, we will stretch a small canvas to make artwork that is ready to hang on a wall as a gift to someone or yourself.

51. Trash to Treasure Creature Sculptures
Rachel Lindle
We will make good use of materials that we might normally throw away as we produce fun and creative sculptures of birds, fish, and any animal you can think of!

52. Bang! History and Improvisation
Marcus Wilkerson
Learn the history of music of the African Diaspora through the use of drums and the human body. Experience how musical we can be with or without any materials. Be amazed at the beautiful sounds that can be made with simple household materials and tools!

53. Dry Painting
Frank Boyer
Chalk and oil pastels are excellent media for fast, realistic drawings, for effects usually achieved with paints. Various subjects will be demonstrated and rendered, from figures and landscapes to sci-fi themes.

54. Decorate an Herbal Christmas Tree
Melinda Boyer
Learn about holiday herbs while decorating a 9 to 12" faux tree with green moss, herbs such as lavender and rosemary, and preserved flowers like baby roses. Then add your own creative touches by making Fimo (color polymer clay that's baked) ornaments of your designs. These make lovely tabletop trees to impress your friends and family.
