Dear Homeschoolers,

Hello.  Thanks for letting me send this information to you.  I work with the Strodes Creek Conservancy.  The Conservancy is affiliated with the City of Winchester.  Our purpose is to clean-up Strodes Creek, which has its headwaters in Clark County.  Our stream is "listed" on the 303(d) list of impaired waters and is impacted for pathogens, nutrients, siltation, and low dissolved oxygen.  As part of mitigation for urban impacts to streams, we are focusing on planting trees throughout the watershed.  As you know, trees provide a tremendous benefit to streams.  We have a two spring planting events planned.  They are Friday, March 17th from 12:30 until 5 and Saturday from 10-1.  We will be planting on Barnes Drive in Winchester.  Barnes Drive is off of North Main Street.  The Thoroughbred Motel and Clark County Fire Departement are on that street.  We would like to invite you to help us with the project.  All tools will be provided.  Just wear old clothes and we hope to see you there!  If you would like to contact me, my cell phone number is 595-2453.  Please forward this to anyone that might be interested!
