We are reading our first Richard Maybury book (Whatever Happened to Justice). WOW! What a fantastic read for my son and I! It has lead to some truly grand conversations about our political system and what our nation's founders really thought of democracy!
I just completed the book on the Thousand Years War. It is completely anti-American, anti-Christianity and as someone who grew up in a foreign country and understands the situation I was horrified by Mr. Mayberry's conclusions. Other countries hate us because we love God and treat each other with far more respect than any other country in the world, thus obeying our Lord.
Please consider carefully before you place one of these books in front of your children. Are you trying to destroy your child's love of this nation? Do you want God glorified or our nation to look like a bunch of cruel dummies? Europe has a deep history that has been terribly misrepresented by these books as. This latest book left me wondering if Mr. Mayberry is a complete atheist or a follower of the Islamic faith himself.
The Thousand Year War in the Mideast is one of the most eye-opening books I've ever read. I'm sorry if it's anti-American to point out that Americans bloodthirstily murdered thousands of Filipinos. If so, you'll have to paint me as anti-American: my Christian faith requires me to not condone murder. I'll stand with the Empire that will crush and destroy all others and fill the entire earth: the Kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I've just written a blog entry where I mentioned the Uncle Eric Books: http://voiceofjohn.blogspot.com/2008/05/wikipedia-is-marvel.html Came here because I was Googling for the books and your blog entry ranked highly. :)
