Last Child

Posted in Books
Remember Rock Mountain from a
previous post?
The kids have been coming to play and check out the rock hill daily.
(It will be gone soon and this lot will be paved.)
A passerby informed us,
that he thought some teens must have been performing some kind of ritualistic , evil ceremony
here, because of the rock circle that looked like a bad omen to him.
It's funny...that gets assumed before it is assumed that it is just kids playing!
I'm reading an interesting book:
My kids love being outside and I enjoy time out with them,
I've come to believe it's not only benificial to children, but crucial.
One easy way to get started is with The Heart of Harmony Green Hour Challenge.

That is interesting. I've read the book and realized that I have notions in my head, fears, about nature. I am working on them.

Yeah, it's strange how people have come to associate nature with dark, evil things. And people who are out in it must be odd or have dark, evil motives. It's like Hansel and Gretel or something -- fear the woods because there are witches there.

I love Last Child in the Woods!

The book really explains what I see happening around me with the children in our neighborhood. My children spend so much time outdoors and now I see how it has only been beneficial for their all around well-being.

This is an important book.

Thanks for recommending this book. I have just taken it out from the library, but have yet to start it. My kids are outside almost every day and I'm so glad they like to be out there.
