Family Movie

Posted in Family Movies
The Kite Runner.
We liked this movie!
Christianity Today Review
It is rated PG13.
Parents, watch for the scene where the boy is running off alone for the kite,
(I was forewarned, and was ready to fast forward.)
One boy is assaulted and it IS disturbing.

Keri,

Thank you for posting about this. I have been wanting to see this movie with my family. I am grateful for your warning. Other than the scene you mentioned, would this movie be to hard for a mature 10 year old boy to see?

I read the book and it was very graphic. It touched my soul, as it was so very well written.

We ALL watch the movies that I post...
10yrs, 9yrs, and 5.
I fast forward when I know there is something that I don't want them to see. (Sometimes I'm off guard.)
It can be very hard to find a movie for the family that is 'safe for little eyes'...that is why I post here...to give some suggestions...but each family's guidelines will be different.

I'm really glad to hear your review. We'll have to check it out. I read the book too and was deeply moved and disturbed. It's a powerful story.

I've had to go back far to catch up on what 'Sunny's' family is doing! Love all the interaction things you've got going on lately.

Can you come to my blog and leave a comment telling me where you get the Spelling Wisdom books and if I can use them for my almost high schooler?

Thank you,
Nancy
