The Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY June 9, 2008...
Outside My Window...
I am thinking...
I am thankful for...
From the kitchen...
I am wearing...
I am creating...No..WANT to create
something like this shadowbox:
I am going...to the library!
I am reading...many kid's books!
I am hoping...to plant these seeds when it cools down in the evening.
I am hearing...
Around the house...everyone's hungry for dinner!
One of my favorite things...
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week:
A school day off with dad!
Here is a picture thought I am sharing...

We are reading the Nick of time aloud!

How are you liking it? I'm thinking of using it for our homeschool book club pick for our first meeting of the school year!

Did you find any goodies at the library? We went today as well.

Love the photos. Great way to tell your story.
I thought of you and my Bahama friend last week when I was at the beach.
I really need to get busy planting our flowers around here.

Keri, that is a beautiful entry --- what fun!!! Neat to get a peek into others days!

I love the ocean.......takes me back to my childhood. While the mountains are majestic and spectacular, there is something about the ocean. I can smell and taste the salty air........

Teaching the Trivium

How can you give your children the tools they need to teach themselves? Long ago students were first taught how to learn. Today, students are taught an encyclopedia of subjects – trivia – but they are not taught the basic skills of learning: to discover, to reason, and to apply.
