From the Yard

Flowers from the yard:

Here's a book we enjoy.

Here's an idea that we got fom Barb, who got from Cocoa!

And look at the deal on these Gladiolus!
Our sunflowers are now 11 days old.

(for some reason homeschoolblogger.com won't let me log on)

Anyway, I am so glad to see you trying the mixed garden project from Cocoa. Ours is starting to sprout and we are all trying to guess which plants are which.

We planted some of the same things you did. :)

I love your leaf journal entries too...very well done.

Thanks for sharing your link,

Beautiful things are sprouting up at your house! Neat idea! I ought to give that Green Hour Challenge a try!!

I havent been by to visit you for a while -- I've been away from the computer on and off, mostly off, for the past several weeks. Now I'm trying to catch up with everyone!

By the way, I posted a 'pet post' -- Diego, the bearded dragon, is included. :)

Your children really do seem to be in their element studying nature! Great journal entries, too.

Teaching the Trivium

How can you give your children the tools they need to teach themselves? Long ago students were first taught how to learn. Today, students are taught an encyclopedia of subjects – trivia – but they are not taught the basic skills of learning: to discover, to reason, and to apply.

Classical Christian Education

America's public schools are failing. Douglas Wilson lays much of the blame for this situation on the current idea that schools can educate in a moral vacuum. __________________________
