This week the Senate Judiciary Committee is beginning hearings to determine if Judge Samuel Alito will replace retiring Sandra Day O'Connor as the next Justice of the Supreme Court.
I believe that Judge Alito is a strict constructionist who will
interpret the Constitution as it was written rather than
legislate from the bench. Judge Alito should receive dignified
hearings and a fair up or down vote to be confirmed by the full Senate later this month.
