Jul. 13, 2006 - PLANNING WEEK!! Ahhh- the joy!
For the first time EVER, I will NOT be volunteering at my church's VBS while my children attend! What? How? Why?, you ask? And I say - PLANNING WEEK!
Earlier this year I volunteered to handle registration for a fairly large homeschool mom's retreat. The Lord gave me the idea for using the VBS week to get school in order before the retreat planning got really busy in late summer/early spring. So, I had to say, "No," when asked to volunteer this year. That was hard!
Then the retreat was cancelled (some major life changes caused the leader to seek the Lord and He led her to put it down for this year and focus on her first calling - her family). The Lord must have a plan for this week - since He knew the retreat was going to be cancelled, so I decided it would be prudent to stick with the plan He'd already given me. I hope I know why He wants me to get everything in order now (hint: it involves getting a big belly!), but no sign of it, yet.
So, next week is my planning week! Actually, I do have my basic plan in place, rather, this week will be more for hammering out details, making sure my plans meet my goals for the kids, getting notebooks together, etc.
I'd love to hear how you do your planning - any tips or suggestions you might have. And I'll share my goal setting ideas, notebook layouts, and such - probably after next week.
And who knows - maybe I'll sneak out for a lovely, quiet cup of coffee!
