Teaching your four year old

Posted by ValerieKGorman

Dear Ruth,

I have four daughters who are 13, 11,10, and 7. I have homeschooled all of them. Here is my advice: Don't officially try to "school" him yet. He is so young and clearly not ready or interested. You can do story time, nature walks, arts and crafts, science experiments, but otherwise, just let him be a little boy. Studies have shown that boys need more time than girls to be ready for the deskwork. Better late than early...there's no rush, we're not in a race, right?
