Eight nonspectacular Things...

Eight Random Things

This has not been easy as I did this a year or so ago. I tried then, to choose things of interest as I figured it would be my only 15 minutes of fame on the world’s stage. Of course, since then I have come to realize that millions of people don’t even know what a blog is and three of the five people who faithfully read tangled offerings have moved on to other things. Dispute the Internet, life is still lived in tiny little circles around tiny little ponds. Even people "everybody" knows are terrible ignorant when they are away from their own pond.

1. God seems to favor green but I find myself preferring all colors. My favorite color seems to have evolved into Yes.

2. I have been my husbands barber for the last 30 years. I’m good too.

3. Though I’m still 5'4" I am much taller according to the weight charts...

4. According to my first cousin’s wife, my mother’s side of the family is "connected" Hawaiian royalty... We’ll check that one out before squeezing into a grass skirt... Wooden shoes is bad enough. My Hawaiian name is Makaleka, just in case you need to know.

5. I think my hair may be getting gray. There is no way to know for sure [take my word on this] but I’m using the same color [Autumn Mist] that I’ve used for several years and my hair is suddenly much lighter... does this mean there is less color to...ah...remove? Even the preacher man mentioned my hair being really blond. Is it right for a preacher to notice such things... no. that is just not holy. I never mention his hair turning to skin...

6. I am stubborn [tenacious to those who really love me]. Now that you know, I hope we can still be friends...

7. I’ve also learned recently through the family history buff [ my cousin’s wife] that the husband of one of my other cousins won a gold medal in the 1956 Summer Olympics in swimming and a silver in swim relay racing. The reason this is a random thing about me is that I was 16 in 1956 and, duh! What possible interest could it be that someone else was in some little Olympic thingy and that they may have won a medal or two? As I remember, Tall Frank liked me then...

8. There is a song singing in my head when I awaken every morning. This morning it was

I’m Running into His light, running out of darkness, running out of shame...

Whew@ There. Done that. So now I pass the baton on to Lady Poet [she’d be hurt if I didn’t pick on her], Carpe Monkey, Missy, Heidi,  - oh, I forgot how many to smack...  well.

I too wake with a song in my heart every morning ... God is so faithful on this request. About 8 years ago as I was struggling through a VERY difficult time of spiritual and emotional healing, I was suffering with night terrors and waking to AWFUL memories. When I'd done all I could do (meds weren't helping) I asked the Lord to place His song in my heart.

This morning it was Here I am To Worship

Just stopping in to say "hi." I've been "beyond busy" lately (volleyball season, you know) and I haven't had a chance to check in. Hope all is well with you and yours. This was a WAY cute post!

Blessings from Ohio, Kim Wolf<><
