• Apr. 27, 2006 - Shark dissection

Today, my two teen boys (ages 15 and 13) had a co-op class with other homeschool kids their age, and they dissected a dog shark (with dad's help).  The homeschool co-op teen class had about 20 kids there, and few parents.  Amazing what teens will drive 45 minutes for.  LOL

I arrived to pick them and their dad up (I had been with the 2 little ones catching dragon flies by the lake) and they showed me all the cool, icky insides of the shark.

I learned alot.  Did you know that a sharks liver is filled with oil to help it float better?  Did you know its liver takes up 25% of its body weight?

A lot to learn!

Thank you for your encouragement. We will have to wait out the real estate market up here for a while. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

I have to say it frightens me that someone who is homeschooling their children does not know that "alot" is not a word. It is either "a lot", as in a large quantity, or "allot", which means to parcel or mete out.

Sorry, I guess I just have a life...didn't use spell check. I find it amusing that someone surfs through other's blogs that are over 2 years old and corrects their spelling...GET A LIFE!!!

About Me

I am new to this blogging thing, so you'll have to put up with my inexperience. I am a homeschool mom of 5 (for the last 12 years). I love poetry (reading and writing), oil painting, water colors, cooking and scrapbooking. I love science fiction, and enjoy the mountains in the summer and fall. We enjoy bug collecting, rock collecting, and plant pressing. We love our nature notebooks, and our nature walks. I look forward to learning from you all. I love Charlotte Mason, be we use in conjunction with other forms of learning. We are flexible. LOL
