2006 Homeschool Prom

Here they are arriving.  Hubby and I chaperoned, and you can see hubby coming in behind them.  Hey, I never claimed to be a great photographer! ;)

My 16yos got right to work, dancing with the girls.  I have a lot more pictures, but not sure who the other kids are, and not sure if it's okay to post a picture of someone without their permission.  So you can't see all the girls in their finery.  But I can tell you we had about 350 kids show up to this prom.  It was packed and hot!  But fun!

This is my daughter doing the twist.  Her dance card is hanging around her wrist.  She has a gentleman write down his name, and then when it is full, they put it in a basket for a prize drawing.  The teens really like this.

This is my son participating in the twist contest.  They were picking winners for prizes.  He is really determined to win, and is really getting into it.  LOL

Here is my hubby.  Sitting it out with a donut and punch.  I was able to get him out on the floor a couple of times, but he doesn't really know how to dance, so he feels uncomfortable.  But he did swing dance, waltz and cha cha with me.  :)

Here we are at the end of the evening.  Whew!  Was I tired, and my feet were killing me.  But it was so fun.  I can't wait for next years prom!

I keep forgetting just about everybody on this blog are my childrens age! Of course I never have been able to stay in an "age group" for long. I'm too curious about what's going "over there" LOL Your daughter is gorgeous too. And you aren't suppose to print [post also, I guess] pictures without permission. My husband has a form people fill out when he takes stills. At the begining of the year a brand new school opened and the TV station sent him to cover it. The principal would not let him shoot anyone 's face so he had a story of headless people running around. They fell into two catagories: show everything and cover up everything... amazing - they should have let him show the faces!
I'm glad you got to have fun - you really didn't look all that tired...:>)
Be blessed,
Miss Meg

You are all lovely in your finery's, thats what we call them too. How fun for everyone to dress up and dance the night away. We do not have a homeschool group like that, maybe when my children are older we can work on one. Tommarow I'll be dancing on the beach.(sorry just had to tease you a bit) Kelly

About Me

I am new to this blogging thing, so you'll have to put up with my inexperience. I am a homeschool mom of 5 (for the last 10 years). I love poetry (reading and writing), oil painting, water colors, cooking and scrapbooking. I love science fiction, and enjoy the mountains in the summer and fall. We enjoy bug collecting, rock collecting, and plant pressing. We love our nature notebooks, and our nature walks. I look forward to learning from you all. I love Charlotte Mason, be we use in conjunction with other forms of learning. We are flexible. LOL
