• Jul. 2, 2006 - 4th of July and a picture

The 4th of July weekend is one of my favorite times to attend church.

We sing patriotic hymns in our church for the 4th of July.  I really enjoyed going today, and listening to the beautiful music.

My little 7yos got to speak in church today, and he recited the preamble to the Constitution for the congregation, their were many teary eyes as he did so.  I was so pleased with him.

He has worked hard all year to memorize it.

This is a picture of him in his "Sunday clothes" with his little brother who is 5.  So cute!

I believe homeschoolers in America have a great responsibility to teach our children the foundations of this country, and it's Christian heritage.  If we don't, we will get exactly what we deserve!

What an great picture. One day, when they're much older, they will appreciate that picture so much. What beautiful boys. Isn't a child's love the most amazing thing to witness?

Nertz. Too many typos. :oP

You are pretty good getting him to learn the preamble. We sang hyms last night at the fireworks display. It is great to celebrate out freedoms but I feel bad for all who are fighting for the freedoms. I wish we could all live in peace. Your kids look so cute and handsome all dressed up. They stand proud as you do to.

About Me

I am new to this blogging thing, so you'll have to put up with my inexperience. I am a homeschool mom of 5 (for the last 12 years). I love poetry (reading and writing), oil painting, water colors, cooking and scrapbooking. I love science fiction, and enjoy the mountains in the summer and fall. We enjoy bug collecting, rock collecting, and plant pressing. We love our nature notebooks, and our nature walks. I look forward to learning from you all. I love Charlotte Mason, be we use in conjunction with other forms of learning. We are flexible. LOL
