• Sep. 25, 2006 - Who are you?

My daughter came up with this fun question last night on the way home from the granparents house.  I had to share it with my homeschool friends, and I can't wait to hear your answers!

If you could be in any book, what would it be?  What character would you be?  Why?

Hubby said: Star Wars, Han Solo, because he is cool and gets the girl.  LOL

16yos said:  Eragon, he would be Eragon, because he has his own dragon.

13yos said: Return of the King (the Lord of the Rings series), he'd be Frodo, because Frodo is brave in the face of evil.

18yod said: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery (any of them) and she said she would be Watson, (because she thinks Watson is cool).

I said: Persuasion by Jane Austen, I'd be Anne, because she does what is right and learns to love herself.  (there is more to this, but I will keep it simple for the blog).

7yos said he would be David, from the story David and Goliath.  Because he would get to kill a bad giant.

5yo said he would be a dinosaur (a t-rex to be exact) so he could reach high.  He is using a dinosaur book we have.  LOL

Has anyone found any good children's books on dinosaurs, and about how one of the theories is they might have lived at the same time as humans?  It's slim pickings from what I have found.

I look forward to hearing your book and character and why you would like to be that character.

there is a good one, dinosaurs by design, i think is the title. i'll have to check on it for you. i'm sure you could find it on the answers in genesis site.

those were good questions and your kids had such great answers. i would have to think about mine. i've always thought being in a mark twain book would be fun.

My kids love this book! We also have Dinosaurs of Eden by Ken Ham! I like it even more but it is not as easy to read.

Hope these help! In Him, Eva

My grandson [age 7] has been hooked on dinosaurs since he was three and frankly I am tired of them. `sigh` now I will have to get him more books that I hadn't heard about...`sigh`. My grandsons started homeschooling last Monday - it was my honor to teach the first day as my daughter was at the hospital sitting in a hall instead of having the baby. As she has said every day this week - I am Still PG. This is only her 38th week and they are urging her to be induced. I just hope this kid doesn't like dinosaurs...
be blessed,
Miss Meg

From any of the mystery books in the series by Elizabeth Peters. Murders to solve, late 19th century Egyptology, endless adventures with my family, what more could I want? Check www.ameliapeabody.com for details on the series.
Hi, I'm just blogging around when I should be teaching my kids. :o) I consider myself more of the principal--they already know more than I do on some subjects and they teach each other!

Happy day!
