• Jul. 17, 2008 - Homeschool Soccer Teams

I have spent the last month and a half not only recovering from bronchitis (again...a whole other story in itself) but while I was sick, I was putting together a homeschool soccer team for the kids in our area.

I have 3 pages of kids signed up for our soccer teams.  Roughly well over a hundred kids.

We have 2 teen teams, and they are so excited to start the soccer games.

I had the parents pay a small fee so I could get supplies, and hubby has promised to help me pick them out this weekend.  lol

My hubby is also coaching one of the teen soccer teams (my son's team).  I think he is just as excited as the kids are for this.  lol

I am planning to purchase some kind of awards for the kids.  If anyone knows of a good place to get them for cheap, let me know.  :)

The kids are going to wear plain t-shirts in their teams color, and we have a homeschool dad who is a professional photographer, who has offered to do their team photos for just the cost of the photos.

I will post pictures of our first day.  Our first practice is August 1st.

So, that is what LadyPoet33 has been so busy doing lately.

My in-laws got home from Australia this week, and I missed them so badly.  We've spent much of this week with them.  They served a mission to the aboriginals, teaching them to read and teaching them about Jesus, they said they also learned so much about spirituality from these humble followers of Christ.  My father-in-law is putting together a slide show of their experiences.  I can't wait to see it.

Needless to say, it has been a busy week.  ;)

Hello! Thank you for your comment!

Yes... serving the ball proved to be a bit challenging, so they didn't make me stand all the way back in the corner. I think I got a couple over the net. :)

You have a blessed day! In Christ, Erica

Busy indeed! It is challenging having several kids on teams at the same time. Whoa!
Sounds like a fun summer despite the busy-ness.

I've been away for a month but am hoping to catch up with all my blogging friends and then continue bloggging regularly again.

Thanks for visiting my neglected blog!

And when is your trip to Australia? :o)

We've been busy too. Today and tomorrow is the culmination of a month of rehearsals- the backyard theatre extravaganza! Wish us luck!

About Me

I am new to this blogging thing, so you'll have to put up with my inexperience. I am a homeschool mom of 5 (for the last 10 years). I love poetry (reading and writing), oil painting, water colors, cooking and scrapbooking. I love science fiction, and enjoy the mountains in the summer and fall. We enjoy bug collecting, rock collecting, and plant pressing. We love our nature notebooks, and our nature walks. I look forward to learning from you all. I love Charlotte Mason, be we use in conjunction with other forms of learning. We are flexible. LOL
