On My Way
This entry will be less about homeschooling and more about me. I became a Creative Memories consultant about a month ago. Tonight I placed my first ever order - and it was my first qualifying order. So now I'm considered an "active consultant" and I have three more months before I have to worry about getting enough orders again. When I started putting all the orders together, it looked like I was not going to have enough to make the minimum order. But then my good friend Kristina's friend called with the biggest order yet. So, I only ended up having to spend about $20 of my own money. This is a huge answer to prayer, because last month we had a $600 repair to our van. (The alternator went out, and though it was covered under warranty, we had to have the 30,000 tune up done in order to keep the warranty valid. So it was the old catch 22.)
So my next CM order of business is planning my first crop. The problem is, I'm used to going to a crop and working on my own stuff. It's the only time I get to, frankly, because the second I pull anything out at home the girls suddenly think it'd be fun to put stickers all over their bedroom walls. Not with CM stickers girls - we'll go to the dollar store for that! So the idea that I have to go to a crop prepared to work, but willing to not get anything done because I'm there to help others is a foreign one. (And yes, as an English major I realize that that is a huge run-on sentance, as is this one, which started with the taboo conjunction.) I think I can handle it though. After all, half the fun of a crop is looking at other people's pages, getting new ideas, and of course the food. And if I'm responsible for the food that means I get the leftovers, right?
Blessings all.
