Monday, December 22, 2008 - New Blog
Hey, I made a new blog, www.homeschoolblogger.com/blackraspberrychip so I will be deleting this one or something...I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with it yet but anyway there' nothing on it yet, but just so ya'll know and don't keep coming here!! The username is purplepeppermint in case you want to add me as a friend.
I can't believe it's already been a week since I've posted. My sister was reading my blog again today and she said, "You so need to post again!" and I said, "I just did!" and she's like, "A week ago!" It's so amazing how time flies. We only have...uhhh...16 more days of 2008? I think 16. That's REALLY amazing.
For Today…Monday, December 15, 2008
Outside my Window…A very cold, bitter day, and it's supposed to snow soon. I hope it does.
I am thinking…About what I'm going to say when I'm finished answering these. I know what I'm going to say, but I'll let ya find out for yourself.
I am thankful for…At the moment, my dad, because of his job and how he provides for his family and he has an answer for every question I ask him. And because of his job, we may be going on an exciting vacation in May.
From the kitchen…i don't know. Something in the crock pot
I am wearing...A teal blue t-shirt, jeans, and white socks with some blue stripes the same color as my shirt
I am reading…The Two Elsies, Pilgrim Stories, Blood on the River, and Jack's Insects (all for school)
I am hoping…WE GET SOME SNOW!!! Last year on this particular day, we had like 6 inches and it kept coming.
I am creating...I made a whole bunch of tissue paper flowers the other day at a babysitting job...and that's all.
I am hearing…The printer printing something, my 6 y/o sister making some noise
Around the house…11 y/o sister is...reading I think, 7 y/o sister is playing, Mom's making part of dinner, and I'm telling my 11 y/o sister something.
One of my favorite things…Snow
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...nothing that I remember...there's too much.
Oh, I forgot to tell ya, in my last entry, I said my "...7 y/o sister..." Well she's only 6. I always forget and say she's 7, because I get confused with 2 of Sarah's kids, Willow and Piper who are 14 (that's how old I am) and 7 (which is how old I always say my sister is!).
So what I was gonna say was, it's been a year since my friend got sick with blood clots. You can click here to read what I wrote exactly a year ago.
Anyway I need to get going. thanks for reading!

Tuesday, December 9, 2008 - It's been a short year
Today I am going to make this my priority...writing this. I refuse to distract myself with watching interesting videos of Sarah and Todd, learning more about the Palins and why they named their kids Track, Bristol, Willow, Piper and Trig. My sister, mom and I seemed to have figured out some logical reasons why they chose those names. I personally think they are very creative, and they did some good thinking. Great job Todd and Sarah! Here's what we think...
Track--because Sarah used to run track we thought...
Bristol--Todd is a life-long commercial fisher in the Bristol Bay
Willow--Alaska's state bird is a willow ptarmigan
Piper--The Palins own a small airplane, which is a 1958 Piper Cub.
Trig--Well, I'll admit, I don't have a logical reason yet. I'm still working on it. My dad has a good one but I can't remember what it is.
Lately it's been crazy around here. Our lives, the weather, everything. I seemed to have lost contact with all of my friends, and I hope to get back on track SOON. I'll do this for a change...
For Today…December 9
Outside my Window…Falling rain, pine trees with pine cones on them, and trees without leaves...pretty boring sight.
I am thinking…About dinner, when my dad's going to be home, and...that's really all
I am thankful for…I guess the rain, although I would prefer snow. I mean come on, it's not supposed to rain in December! And I'm thankful that my family and I are so blessed that we don't have to worry about not having enough money to buy gas, buy food, or anything else that we need.
From the kitchen…I think some sort of turkey something or other...
I am wearing...A minty green t-shirt and jeans
I am reading…The Two Elsies, Pilgrim Stories and Jack's Insects (all for school)
I am hoping…That the clouds blow over and we either get some snow or sun. I'm ver anxious for us to get a lot of snow this year for some reason. Last year I was complaning all year because we had too much snow.
I am creating...Uhhh...nothing
I am hearing…An annoying commerical on TV, and my dog snoring
Around the house…My 11 y/o sister on the phone, my 7 y/o sister watching TV and my mom is reading
One of my favorite things…Getting letters and packages in the mail, reading, snow, sweet things
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...Running errands tomorrow (Wednesday), going to chemistry class Thursday and Friday, no clue.
My eyes are hurting and I've been on for a long time. I seriously think I'm going to need glasses. I hope everyone has a great week and I'll get back to ya later!

10. Favorite Things you like to do?- Read, listen to music, talk on the phone, write letters, take pictures, and blog.
11. Do you like Long hair or short hair?- Long!! I like short hair on people just not on me. I can't stand it. Like shoulder length or longer is fine.
12. Do you like this tag? Ya
13. Do you like the Person who Tagged you?- YES! She's a wonderful, wonderful friend who puts up with my complaining. :)
14. Do you think it is Dumb? Not really...
15. Do you like rings? I can't stand to have them on my finger.
16. Do you like makeup? Yes, but not gobs and gobs. Like I wear blush, mascara and a little but of like nuetural skin color-ish eye shadow, it's kind of shiny.
17. Do you like animals?- Yes! I LOVE them!

19. Who are you going to tag?- Anyone
So Thanksgiving is in like...25 hours. :) We're making a turkey tomorrow for dinner tomorrow night like sandwiches I think,, and then on Thursday we're making another one for dinner. We're having cranberry relish, dirty garlic mashed potatoes, candied sweet potatoes, 2 kinds of stuffing, a veggie tray, shrimp, and for dessert, chocolate pecan pie, pecan pie, and pumpkin pie. And we'll have to make whipped cream and have ice cream. I mean who can eat pumpkin pie without ice cream of whipped cream? lol. For breakfast we're having some sort of egg something or other than my aunt is making.
Tomorrow afternoon my friends will be here. We bought a balloon to put up on the mailbox because you can't see our house from the road. It's a yellow smiley face. We're going to have turkey sandwiches for dinner tomorrow, then heading to the local ice cream place that's to die for.
And you're wondering what my title means? Today is my mom and dad's anniversary. 15 years. Every time my mom tells somebody how long they've been married, she always has to look at me. So my dad came home tonight before we did, and brought home some roses. As my sister and I were playing an I Love Lucy trivia game, my dad said, "What's that in the schoolroom? It looks like a ghost!" because it had a white plastic bag over it. So my mom went out to look, and come to find out, it was a bunch of roses. Quite a few red ones, 3 yellow ones, and a pink one. The yellow ones represent my sisters and me, and the pink one is for my mom. It's so pretty. I took pictures but they aren't unloaded yet.
Well according to the weather channel, we're going to have snow tomorrow and it's supposed to be pretty cold. I'm really excited. I like cloudy snowy Thanksgiving days, not warm sunny ones. :( I hope it stays cold and snowy.
Okay it is now 11:30 p.m. est, and I'm pretty tired. I was cleaning the house pretty much all day today. It takes forever to clean!!! Even with 4 people helping. I mean come on, we have 3 floors to clean! I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving as I probably won't be posting until like Friday or Monday.
Laura
P.S. Did anyone know Sam's Club is opening at a.m. tomorrow morning and they're not even having any sales? Crazy.

1.) Doing 5 years ago? Learning multiplication, moving into our new house, talking on the phone a lot with my friends from my old neighborhood...
2. Six things you would do if you were a zillionare: Somehow help all the homeless people, travel to lots of different countries, help some people I know with things...there's not really anything else, because everything else I'd do would be for people who don't have much. My family and I have everything we need and there's nothing else that I would need to get, like for instance, a new car that works.
3. Name three bad habits: Picking/biting my nails, not taking my laundry basket upstairs, and forgetting to turn off lights wherever I am in the house.
4. Three good habits: Remembering to take my plate and utensils over to the sink when I'm finished eating, cleaning up after myself (except for when I'm sewing. lol), and not forgetting to call somebody when they ask me to call them. :)
5. Five things you like to do: Read, chat on IM, write letters, sled and take walks in the snow, talk on the phone
6. Name four places you have lived: I've only lived in 2 cities. And I'm pretty much in the same city as I was before...just the metropolitan area.
7. Who did you last talk to? Personally, my sister, and on the phone, my mom's friend, Kim.
8. What is your favorite song? Testify to Love
9. What would you do if you could fly? I'd faint! Because I'd be flying! I mean humans can't fly!
10. What's your favorite book? A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett
I will tag
Thursday, November 20, 2008 - Thanksgiving, in ONE WEEK!!!!!!!
Okay, so I've posted every day for the last 3 days or so. Who cares? I have free time (I never do) and so I might as well do something with it. Of course, I could use it to do something better than type nonsense silliness on my blog. But oh well.
So what is everyone doing for Thanksgiving? We're having my great aunt and uncle over and their grandaughter (who's 16) and my friends, Felicity and Willow are visiting on Wednesday and Thursday. We're going to go grocery shopping on Tuesday, cook one turkey on Wednesday for sandwiches and stuff, and then cook our Thanksgiving meal on Thursday. My sister and I have been counting down the days since it's been like 14 days. :) If you can't tell, I'm very excited. :) Oh wait, I can't tell what I was going to say or else my friends might read it and find out!! Sorry, guys!
At the time I type this, it is snowing very heavily outside. The flakes are huge clusters, and the wind is blowing pretty hard. It looks really pretty. I was outside a few minutes ago playing soccer. Well I don't exactly know how to PLAY soccer, but we made a "goal" and tried to kick it into it while the other one was goalie. My sister and I both took turns kicking. Now my ears are wind burned and they sting pretty bad. I love snowy cold days. Especially when you come in and sit down with a hot cup of hot chocolate. :)
1. What can you hear right now? My playlist on my blog playing, myself typing and the TV on in the family room.
2. What is the weather like? Cold (34 degrees F), snowy and windy.
3. Name 5 things that are in front of you (not including your computer). The cell phone, the home phone, my cup of hot chocolate, my mom's wallet and my cousin's picture.
4. What are you wearing? A dark green long sleeved shirt, a tan colored hairband, a brown ponytail and jeans.
5. How do you feel now? Well as I mentioned, my ears burn, and I'm pretty comfortable other than that.
6. What was the last thing you did before this? Played soccer and hide-and-go-seek outside
7. What are you going to do after this? Well my friend is going to come this evening, so depending on how long I'm on here and when she comes, I'll probably go outside again.
8. Are your nails painted? Sort of. They were french manicured, but most of it chipped off and so there's a little bit of nail polish left.
9. How is your hair fixed? In a messy ponytail with a hairband
10. What did you do today? Cleaned our schoolroom, ate lunch, played outside, read my book
11. I tag...

So anyway, pretty much we've been cleaning and getting ready for company. My great aunt and uncle are coming on either Saturday or Sunday, so that will make Thanksgiving come faster. The only thing is, 2 days will go by really fast. :( At least my aunt and uncle are staying for like 2 weeks, I believe.
Well I need to get going. It's 5:00 and I need to finally get off. :) I hope everyone is having a great week and staying warm! Well in some places. In California the other day is was 81 degrees and it was dark outside! And it was only 22 where I live! And in Anchorage, Alaska they had a high of 13 degrees I think one day this week. Anyway, my point was, keep warm!
Monday, November 17, 2008 - I'm so angry at this computer...
Okay, my computer acted up, and so now I have to retype this WHOLE entry. I'm not going to write as much as I did. My birthday was great, and we went out to dinner on Saturday night, and my grandma stayed the night because my little sister talked her into it! So anyway, it was great, and the food was wonderful. I'm not going to go into details because I don't have as much time left on the computer as I did last time I typed this. ARRRGGHHH.....
For Today…November 17, 2008 12:57 p.m.
Outside my Window…I see the pine trees outside swaying with the wind, with pine cones hanging off of them, and the snow falling prettily. :)
I am thinking…I can't type too long because of the computer acting up and having to re-type this. And that my tooth is hurting...that's not good.
I am thankful for…My family and the cold weather. I like cold weather! I think I would do really well on Alaska.
From the kitchen...Nothing at the moment...oh yes, I think my sister just made a sandwich! i don't know what we're having for dinner. I think hamburgers
I am wearing...jeans and a buttery light yellow t-shirt
I am reading…Margaret Ann Brady: Voyage on the Great Titanic, The Trumpet of the Swan, and Eleanor Roosevelt
I am hoping…That is snows more today, my aunt and uncle some on Saturday and I remember to get my schoolwork done.
I am creating...Not at the moment, but my mom is painting one of the rooms on the 1st floor, and so I will probably help decorate it.
I am hearing…My sisters arguing, I Love Lucy on TV, my little sister whining, stomping and running downstairs.
Around the house…My 11 y/o sister is watching I Love Lucy, my 6 y/o sister talking to my mom, wait no, now she's talking to my other sister, and my mom is painting one of the rooms on the 1st floor.
One of my favorite things...Books! And ice cream. Yummm...and snow.
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...I don't really know other than Wednesday we are going to the grocery
I accomplished since last week…yesterday I spent 1/2 the day cleaning the 1st floor of the house.
So anyway, I think that's about it. I am adding a slideshow to my sidebar, so I hope everyone likes it. :) Have a great week!
Monday, November 10, 2008 - Sarah, Birthday, Dinner, Kombucha....
Okay, it is the same day, but I am back already. I finished my schoolwork and did everything I needed to do a lot quicker than I thought I would! So here I go...
This past week (last week I guess you could say) I've basically been doing schoolwork, other than Election Day, which of course, my mom voted, and we also ran some errands. Did anyone know that there were places giving away free food for those who voted? Starbucks was giving free coffee, Krispy Kreme a free donut, Ben & Jerry's free scoop of ice cream, and Chick-Fil-A a free sandwich. My mom got a free sandwich from there, and I wanted to get Starbucks but I'm like the only one in my family who likes coffee except my dad. :)
Speaking of Election, I added 2 videos to my sidebar--both are Sarah Palin. I think that song is like perfect for her! I know there are 2 videos with the same song, but I like the pictures on both of them, so that's why they're both there. :) I think that Sarah is fit to be Vice President, and I am very sorry that she didn't win. The night of the election, I just was like shocked, but the day after, it was like reality set in and I could not believe who won. I think I felt worse for the Palins and McCains than myself!! I even made an "election wall" on one of my closet doors, which consists of 3 handmade signs that say, "Another Kid for McCain", "Sarah Palin--Hottest VP from the Coolest State", and "Use your brain: Vote McCain". There's also a McCain-Palin sign from our yard, another McCain-Palin sign from one of our rallies, and my ticket from one of our other rallies.
So anyway, my birthday is in only 3 days, and like I said, I can't believe I'll be 14. I remember when I was like 9, I thought 14 year olds were like so old and so tall and all that, but really, I don't feel that old or tall. And I can't belive that in a year I'll be able to learn to drive. And then in 2 more years I can get my license, which seems like it will take forever, but I know that realistically, it won't take that long because before I know it, I'll be driving to my grandma's house instead of my mom driving me there! Anyway, on Friday (November 14, my birthday) we are going to our friend's neighbor's house so my mom and our friend cam learn to make kombucha, a fermented fizzy healthy drink that you can make yourself. It's really hard to explain, but my point is, what a great birthday present! Not. I mean it's not HORRIBLE because I'll be with 3 of my favorite people! Besides, on Saturday we're going out to dinner with my grandma to this really great restraunt my mom and dad went to about a month ago. They brought home leftovers and it is wonderful food. Their menu changes every month, and they have this wonderful butterscotch pudding that actually has scotch in it. It's like the best dessert I've ever had! Anyway I've never been there before, but I totally trust my parents. :)
And on Thursday, I'm getting my hair cut. I don't just want it trimmed, I want kind of a lot cut off because winter is coming up and I'm going to be wearing heavy coats and stuff, and long, long hair gets in the way. My hair is like maybe 7-8 inches away from my waist, so it's about time to get it cut. :) I want it like below shoulder length. Anyway, who cares if I'm getting my hair cut?
I think I should go now. For the past 2 hours my sister has been bugging me to watch Touched By An Angel with her, and I've kept saying no. And it's about time I get off now anyway. I've been on waaaaay too long. :) I hope everyone has a wonderful week, and stay warm. Where it is cold, anyway. :) The other day here it was like 70 degrees and only 20 in Alaska! How can that possibly be? I know it is possible, it's just hard to believe. So I think I'll leave now. Have a great week!
Monday, November 10, 2008 - Just a Quick Little Note...
Okay, just a quick little note to say that I'll be writing a longer post in a few days or maybe tomorrow. I've been extremely busy. Oh and guess what I get to do for my birthday? Go make kombucha!! Okay, that's not really that exciting. I was being sarcastic. I can't believe that in only 3 days (not including today) I'll be 14. We're going out to dinner for my b-day on Saturday even though that's a day late. LOL So anyway I need to go quickly but I just wanted to say hey and I'll be back soon.
And what do you all think about America's choice of President? I don't think ot was right. I think Americans are smarter than this! I'll be back soon! I promise!
Monday, October 27, 2008 - John McCain Rallies, Election Day, Sarah Palin and VOTE!
It's been entirely hectic at my house recently, until Thursday when all of our company left. The next time we'll have company is in November around Thanksgiving, so I'll have a nice long break! It's pretty of nice but it's also kind of lonely. :(
I am not sure if i mentioned that we attended a Road to Victory Rally this month that Sarah Palin held. It was wonderful, and Sarah was great!! 3 of her 5 kids, Willow, Piper and Trig, were also there with her. It was really crowded and a ton of people were trying to get up to the front as soon as the rally was over. But at the end my aunt went up to the front and almost got to get her autograph or whatever, but she didn't. But she did get some really neat pictures of Sarah and Willow. I got a few, too. I will post some here...
Signing autographs.
Blurry, but it's Willow! Cute, too. :)
Also today we attended another Road to Victory Rally that John McCain held. It was great, also! We were RIGHT up next to the stage, and we had a great view. We thought we were going to get to shake his hand and Cindy's, too, but when he started coming around, people pushed their way up to the front and we kind of got shoved behind. :( So we didn't get to shake his hand or anything. There were pretty many people there. What was funny was, we weren't going to go until my mom received an e-mail from someone in our homeschool group that said the media was trying to hide it from people. Like they were giving wrong times and things like that to try and make John McCain look bad. So this lady said, "Wouldn't it be something if a bunch of us showed up and they couldn't even fit us all in?" So then my mom decided to go. She read the e-mail just at the right time, because there was like just enough time for us to get the tickets and get there. So I thought that was neat. My sister and I were hoping Meghan would be there also, since we're a big fan of her Blogette, but she wasn't there. So we were sort of disappointed. I also think I got on the news! They had a guy with a camera going all the way around the stage where the people were and I was on it!! I wish I had set the satellite to record the rally. And after the rally there were people going around asking people what they thought about it and all, and I was also in a few of those. Too bad I didn't get to see it! Oh well. I got some wonderful photos of John and Cindy. Here are just a few.
Making the big entrance.
Kind of dark, but it's good!
And again...
It was kind of hard to get pictures of John speaking because of the dark thing near his face (see it?).
A great picture of Cindy.
I don't think it's fair how on Election Day the media tells you who is winning at the moment. Because say over here in the Midwest voting is over and they're saying that Obama is winning, then the people in California might think it's not necessary for them to go vote because Obama is already winning. But that's not true! If people get out there and vote even if the media says Obama is winning, McCain could win! We don't want people to just say, "Oh Obama's winning, what's the point in me voting if McCain isn't going to win?" The point is everything! Only one vote could make a difference. ONE vote. You may not think that your one little vote may not count but it sure does. Just think-if all of the people who like McCain didn't vote just because the media is brainwashing them and saying that Obama is winning, they're just helping Obama to win, even if they don't want him to win. Your vote counts. So GET OUT THERE AND VOTE! Don't listen to the media on Election Day, and pretend like nobody is telling you who's winning. YOUR VOTE COUNTS!
Did I say that right?
I hope everyone has a great week, and please, pray that John McCain wins this election. If Obama wins this year, this country will not be like it used to be. And if he does, just remember that God is in control and whatever He has planned is what He thinks is best for us. Have a great week everyone and God bless!
Tuesday, October 21, 2008 - How time flies when your having fun (even if you're not)
I can't believe it's already October 21. It seems like yesterday was the 4th of July! And the weather is getting really cold at night and in the evening and morning, too. Well not that cold I guess, but right now it's 54 degrees and it's 7:48 p.m. To me it's kind of cold, but to people in like Alaska or northern Europe, that might be like a warm spring to them! I am going to skip the questions today.
I think I did mention that I painted my room didn't I? Well if not, I did, and it looks really great. We got it decorated and it looks really nice. As soon as I unload my pictures I will post a few. We also painted my sister's room, which looks awesome, too. My grandma helped us decorate our rooms and I am so thankful!
My aunt and grandma are leaving on Thursday, and my grandma is flying out of Pittsburgh back to New York. She was going to fly out here where we live, but she wanted to go home with my aunt to see her new bedroom. :) So unfortunatly, they're leaving Thursday and that's the end of my grandma's month-long stay.
I am going to try and make a new template. This one I never really did finish, and it's getting rather boring. I'm ready for a change. Yes, I change a lot because I get bored with the same thing for too long. What do ya'll think? I just think it's a little too plain. I love my friend, Sunshine's template. it's so pretty!! Go to www.homeschoolblogger.com/dolphingrl to see her blog.
I hope everyone is doing great and have a wodnerful, wonderful week!
Laura
My sister did this and I just HAD to do it. Well not literally.

I am thinking…about Sarah Palin and how i went to see her the other night

One of my favorite things...books, blogging, writing, reading...there is too much to list!!

Monday, October 6, 2008 - A Swarm of Bees Worth Hiving
Today I am not going to post the Simple Woman's Day Book since I already did it on Friday. :) Unless I choose to do it after I write everything. But I have a wonderful poem that I copied in school a few days ago. What we do for spelling is my mom reads something to me from a spelling book we have, and I write what she reads. She watches me and if I spell a word wrong, she hurries up and gets me to change it so I don't have the wrong spelling in my head. Anyway, here is the poem. :)
A Swarm of Bees Worth Hiving The Life of Jesus Christ for the Young by Richard Newton
Be patient, Be prayerful, Be humble, Be mild,
Be wise as a Solon, Be meek as a child.
Be studious, Be thoughtful, Be loving, Be kind,
Be sure you make matter subservient to mind.
Be cautious, Be prudent, Be trustful, Be true,
Be courteous to all men, Be friendly with few.
Be temperate in argument, pleasure, and wine,
Be careful of conduct, of money, of time.
Be cheerful, Be grateful, Be hopeful, Be firm,
Be peaceful, benevolent, willing to learn;
Be courageous, Be gentle, Be liberal, Be just,
Be aspiring, Be humble, because you are dust.
Be penitent, circumspect, sound in the faith,
Be active, devoted; Be faitful to death.
Be honest, Be holy, transparent, and pure;
Be dependent, Be Christlike, and you'll be secure.
I thought I might as well put something useful on my blog. The rest of my blog is beasically...nothing much! How is everyone else's school doing? Mine is pretty good. It's not too ahrd but it's not too easy, so that's a good combination. :)
Lately the weather over here in the midwest has been pretty warm. Usually in the 70's. Not too hot, and not too cold is great! I don't mind heat as long as it's not humid. I cannot stand humidity! It is normally humid here in the summer, though, so if I don't want humidity, I need to go live in California.
Well since I've written everything I wanted to, I'll fill out the Simple Woman's Day Book for today.
For Today…October 6, 2008 4:49 pm...WHAT??? It's that late already and my schoolwork isn't even finished???
Outside my Window…The peach tree and pear tree, a very sunny day that's warm and breezy.
I am thinking…My eyes are hurting a little from reading a blog with eye boggling colors
I am thankful for…The cool/warm weather we've had lately
From the kitchen...I don't know what my mom is making for dinner. Something with beef in it, because she had to take it out of the freezer.
I am wearing...A denimish flowy skirt that I made and a teal t-shirt
I am reading…Eleanor Roosevelt, Elsie at Nantucket
I am hoping…That we get to eat the rest of the ice cream for dessert tonight.
I am creating...Right now I'm writing an entry!! And today I finished a drawing I was drawing the other day.
I am hearing…Mr. Rogers playing on TV and my sister talking on the phone
Around the house…my little sister is watching TV, my other sister is on the phone, my Nana is in here with me reading, my mom is reading also, and my dogs are playing. my dad should be home soon.
One of my favorite things...Getting a letter from a friend, going to the Cheesecake Factory (like we are tomorrow for lunch!)
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...Tomorrow we're going to The Cheesecake Factory to eat lunch with my sister, mom and my sister's friend for my sister's birthday. Also on Tuesday these men that my dad knows are coming over to talk about hooking up a generator to the house (even though it would have a be a really huge one). Wednesday is grocery day, and Thursday my dogs are getting groomed and I think my great aunt is coming over from West Virginia, and Friday i'm not sure!
I accomplished since last week…My drawing, and I finished reading the whole Kathleen McKenzie series.
Friday, October 3, 2008 - Vice Presidential Debate
Okay, I'm not going to put the Simple Woman's Day Book picture on again...just answer the questions. :)
For Today…October 3, 2008 7:49 p.m.
Outside my Window…Well it is dark, so i can't see anything from here, but outside the window is a pear tree with ripening pears on it.
I am thinking…That I think I have a cavity in my tooth, becuase I got some bread stuck in it, and it feels like there's a little crack or something in it. And my sister just brought in my God's World News that came in the mail today, so I'm excited!
I am thankful for…my God's World News!!! I can't wait for them to come every month. And for the new windows that we got today and yesterday (only some...it would take a hundred years to replace all 64...not literally.)
From the kitchen…Tonight we had hot dogs for dinner with green beans, and also some salad from the deli at our grocery store.
I am wearing...Jean bermuda shorts and a dark green long sleeved shirt
I am reading…Eight Cousins, Kathleen's Abiding Hope, Elsie at Nantucket and Marie Antoinette: Princess of Versailles
I am hoping…it doesn't get too cold! It's really chilly outside.
I am creating...Yesterday we painted my room! I guess that's considered creating something. And my Nana is helping me decorate it, also.
I am hearing…My dad talking to my mom, my little sister playing in the bathtub, my Nana talking on the phone, and my mom replying to my dad.
Around the house…My little sister is just getting out of the bathtub, I am on the computer, my Nana is on the phone, my other sister is in her room reading, and my dad is trying to figure out why a certain breaker keeps tripping.
One of my favorite things…Getting a letter from a friend, and reading a book
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...Tomorrow we're going out to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory for my sister's 11th birthday, and Sunday I don't really know!
I accomplished since last week…Doing all my schoolwork for the week, and also a few little things (cleaning my bedroom, painting it, etc.)
Okay, FINALLY a chance to write! Every single time I start to write, I get distracted by something else, but this time I won't be.
How many of you watched the VP debate last night? I thought Sarah was wonderful!!! I thought she was bright and happy, and she was talking TO YOU. To the United States of America! If you notice, Sarah was looking at the camera pretty much the whole time, with the exception of looking at her notes, while Biden was constantly looking away from the camera, and pointing his finger, moving his hands, and basically fidgeting. Sarah was calm, and waited her turn. I liked the fact that she said things that an every day American would say and she said them just like we would. She did an excellent job for only being in this for what, 5 or 6 weeks? Who could say she didn't?
I think that's enough politics for now. Well, I guess this sort of is politics, but this is awesome. Go to www.lakotacorp.com to see a new bow dedicated to Sarah Palin. It's really neat. you should check it out. And 10% of the proceeds of the sales of each bow goes to the National Association for Down's Syndrome.
So I know I mentioned I painted my room. It's a pretty peachy pinkish color, but it's not really bright peach...it's kind of warm and soft, but it's bright at the same time. It goes really good with my bedspread. And we're going to redecorate it, also. My Nana is helping with that.
I think that is about all for now. I think I've said everything I've been meaning to say! Other than today is my sister's 11th birthday! So if you could please go to www.homeschoolblogger.com/Maryoftheprairie and wish her a happy birthday, I'd be really thankful!

I am hearing…My Nana, Mom and sister takling in the kitchen, and my little sister saying, "Pretend I'm Sarah (meaning Sarah Palin) making bread, and you can be John McCain talking"
Around the house…My mom I think is making bread, my Nana is helping her, and my sisters are...I'm not sure!
One of my favorite things…ICE CREAM!!!
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...I'm not really sure...we do need to get paint for my room since we're going to paint it this week, and we're also getting new windows on Thursday and Friday

Well we got a new dog! Her name is Katie, and she's a moniature poodle that is an apricot color! She's so cute, and she has a sweet personality! I am so happy we got her!
Also, For those of you who love Sarah Palin, I am going to be making a template sometime soon for anyone on HSB who likes her. :) I know, I never have anything intersting to say on my blog, and that's why nobody reads it or anything. I wish I could think of something interesting to say. I never can...
Well it's really late and I want to read some of my book. Actually, it's 9:14 p.m. even though I started this at 8...my Nana needed to use the computer, and so I had to finish now. :) I hope everyone has a wonderful week and God bless!

Sunday, September 21, 2008 - Simple Womans Day Book and Hurricane Aftermath
For Today…September 21, 2008 8:49 pm

I am thinking…That I don't want to drag this out too long becuase I only have 15 minutes
I am thankful for…Our electricity coming back on even after all of the complaining I did
From the kitchen…My mom and Nana made apple pie today
I am wearing...Khaki shorts and a green tshirt
I am reading…My Bible-Leviticus and Matthew, Elsie at Nantucket, The Sign of the Beaver (for school), and Eight Cousins by Louisa May Alcott
I am hoping…That I have enough time to finish this entry,
I am creating...This entry!!
I am hearing…Touched by An Angel playing on the TV, my sister laughing, myself typing and somebody singing on the TV
Around the house…My 2 sisters are watching TV with my Nana (who flew in yesterday from New York), my mom is reading a book and my dad is doing proof reading on his laptop
One of my favorite things…Mint ice cream from this local (it's not quite so local anymore...it's getting more famous) ice cream place
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...Grocery day is Wednesday, and we have to do school. Also mom and I want to go to the Republican place to get a McCain-Palin bumper sticker sometime this week
I accomplished since last week…Well we cleaned the whole house in 2 days, and I cleaned my room, and I fixed the chicken pen that the wind damaged so they couldn't get out.
Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you… I don't really have time to post a picture right now. I will net time. :)
We got a new kitten! We named her Gracie and she's black and gray tiger striped, and she has like a lepord'type belly and white paws. She is SOOOO cute! I'll post a picture of her next time.
Our electricity came back on on Friday at about 3 p.m. while we were at our grandma's house. We came home and saw lights on through the windows and we got out and my sisters and I were jumping up and down and screaming and yelling!!! I complained so much this week, I really didn't deserve to get power back. But God is so forgiving, and I am sooooo thankful.
So last Sunday was when we had all the high winds, and we had a LOT of damage around here. Our neighbors down the road still don't have power, and I have a lot of sympathy for them. I wish I could help. I guess I could make them some vegetable soup or something and take it to them. i know how it is to have to eat cold food all the time. It's very boring.
So my grandma flew in from New York yesterday at 7;35 and she's staying for a month. So that will be fun. And my great aunt and uncle are coming tomorrow from West Virginia! I can't wait!!! I love it when they come.
Well I think I'd better go now so I can do a few other things before time is up. I hope everyone is safe, and if your power is still out, KEEP PRAYING!!! Don't give up.
Hey, and welcome to my blog! I'm 14 years old and I live in the midwestern USA. I love cats, books, and anything sweet (lol) and I hope you can enjoy my blog. you can post comment to give me ideas, let me know how you like my blog, or just to say hello (you don't have to be an HSB member).
