My Friend Passes Away

Victor went to be with Jesus in the wee hours of this morning, cradled in his wife's arms. Tam held him with her hand over his heart, and she felt his heartbeat fade. When I talked to her this morning, she told me that if she had to choose a way, that would have been it.

Their five children came home from various sleepovers shortly after I was done talking to her, and she had to break the news to them. She was most concerned about her youngest, who is only 3.

Sometime today, I believe Victor met my daughter and passed on the greeting I sent with him. But mostly, today, Victor saw Jesus face to face.

There is nothing we can do about death. Thank God that He did something for us.

Heaven ~
Days without end and nights that never come
Joy without ceasing, no more sorrows, no more tears.

But even though we don't mourn like those who have no hope, death is still so very sad. Our bodies were never created for death and at our very core, we remember. I will pray for Victor's family and friends ~ may you all feel a peace that passes understanding.
