We need prayer. Those of you for whom it comes to mind, please include me, Dave and our kids in your talks with the Lord.
I'm not overly surprised, but having resolved not to let it bother me what people think, I was immediately sifted, confronted with all the things that made me care to the point of paranoia before I was saved.
Right now, we're trying to figure out how to let go of people's perceptions and not care about what they think of us, just to care about them - as per my little New Year's Resolution. I think I'm about done bawling over my sad misfortune now, and ready to get back on the horse. I'm not sure yet whether it'll turn out to be a lost friendship or what, but I just know Dave and I have to stand on the Word and not give in to emotional manipulations, justifications, and histrionics on the part of both individuals involved. In the end, it comes down to whether each of them is willing to submit to God. It is not for us to fix them or make them happy, especially when the things that would make them happy are toxic to both of them and to us.
However, I have several horses calling for exercise right now, the main one being a post-abortion presentation in conjunction with Answers in Genesis tomorrow afternoon. They've graciously allowed me to ride under their banner (okay, that horse metaphor wasn't even intentional!) and I want to be sure that I honour their grace to me in allowing me to be included in their ministry. I have a ten-minute opener for Dr. Emil Silvestru, and then that's the last I'll be doing for these presentations for awhile, unless God tells me differently. I need to give my children time to mature into the discussion.
On that note, it has been very interesting to weave together the logic of origins debate with the emotional quotient of the abortion issue. I think I'll update my personal webpages on the issue to reflect that. When I get time for the webpage horse.
Till then... Hi-ho, Tinfoil, awayyyyy!
