Summer is coming to a close and most families are getting ready for school to start. Our family is taking one last weekend trip before my son’s football practice starts on Monday. We are headed to Seattle to pick up my daughter who has been working at a Christian camp since the first of July.
Then we are headed for a stop at the Olympic Rainforest and over to Victoria, British Columbia. I still remember my parents taking us to Victoria for a few days. On the way home, we’ll take in a Seattle Mariners’ baseball game.
Once we get home, I’ll start cleaning my school desk…what a job! We homeschool from Labor Day to Memorial Day, so I have a few weeks to get ready.
I know many of you start much sooner, so I want to give you a couple of tips to start the school year right.
1. Do something FUN on the first day of school. Many of you know we have ice cream for breakfast on the first day of school each year. For all you health nuts (including myself…I even grind my own flax seeds now), one meal of ice cream isn’t going to hurt anyone. AND…it will make an unforgettable memory with your children. What are you doing for fun?
2. Consider your style of homeschooling. Are you following the traditional model of the public schools that simply gives your children an education designed for the poor? Does your approach prepare your kids how to think for themselves Biblically?
What in the world am I talking about? I’ve explained it in a short Report I prepared especially for you. Right now, you can get the report. All you have to do is go here:
