Leviathan

• Oct. 24, 2006 - So this is a habitat ...

Posted in My Habitat

The people came home late tonight.  They moved me away from my lamp and started opening packages.  They bought me a habitat.  I'm supposed to live in there.  It's better than a basement, I guess.

There is sand in the bottom, then a layer of sand mixed with grit and rock chips.  They added more rock chips and some small river rocks off to the side.  I also have a fake tree stump with lots of holes to crawl through.  They even gave me my own pond.  This is way better than a basement!

It took me a little while to get used to it, but after about ten minutes of checking out the inside of the stump, I decided to creep outside to explore this place.

I discovered that the pond water is very tasty.  I drank and drank, moving my jaws up and down much like a dog or cat.  Then my people watched while I moved the water down through my digestive tract.  Oops!  I drank too much and spat some of it back out.  How rude of me.  But then, they are the ones who won't quit staring.

The waxworm is trying to get into my tree stump.  I'm going to have to do something about him.
