What my husband means to me

Josephine, over at The Home of the Dixie Cajun, has issued a challange to all of us wives.  Josephine lost her husband, Elgin, on Mothers Day of this year.  I did not know of her before this time, but I can say without a doubt that they were one of best couples.  You can read her joy in their lives and the pain she feels since his death.  She issued a challange that we as wives would share what our husbands mean to us.  So this is what I'm doing on this post.  I do this in honor of all fathers everywhere, but most importantly our heavenly Father.

My husband, Anthony, is the best there is.  I know the rest of you will say that you had the best but I know it's not true. We have been married for 12 years and have 4 kids.  We are much happier now than we were back then.  We have had our ups and downs like most couples.  One time we almost seperated.  Things were worked out and we are the happiest couple you could see.  If I could go back and re marry him, I'd do it in a heartbeat.  I get aggrevated at him when he comes in from work tracking dirt and throwing his stuff all over.  I get frustrated having to wash all those yucky oil field clothes each night just so he doesn't have to.  I hate having to eat what he wants all time.  But you know what, I would not change any of that for the world because in the long run none of it matters.  I love that he goes out to work each and every day to provide a wonderful life the the kids and I.  I love that we don't have to worry about food to eat, or where we are going to live at.  He loves the 5 of us with all he has.  We come 2nd only to God.  He would give up anything and everything just for us.  And there are times that he has done without just so we can have things.  He takes such great care of us. He's my best friend, my confidante, and my lover.  He loves everything about me. Even though I'm 100 lbs over weight he never says a word about it.   He is active in our church as an usher and he drives the bus for the bus kids.  He loves them kids like they were ours.  Anthony is light of my life.  I wouldn't want him to change for anything.  Anthony is as close to a redneck as you can possible get and I love him for it!!  I'm looking forward to many, many more years with him.  I look forward to graduating our kids from high school and college.  I look forward to him walking our 2 daughters down the aisle at their weddings.  I look forward to being by his side when our our 2 sons get married.  I look forward to being there with him to spoil our grandchildren and our great grandchildren.  I look forward to a whole lifetime of fun and memories with my husband.

After the loss of my mother, it really made me realize that none of us are promised tomorrow.  I have not let him or the kids leave without getting a kiss and an I love you.  I end each conversation with I love you.  We end each night with I love you.  Anthony and I talk on the phone at least 4 times a day while he's working.  I thank God for my wonderful hubby.  Like Josephine says, treasure them and love them like there's no tomorrow becuase you never know when it will be the last time you see them.  And that goes not only for our husbands but our entire family and friends.

Hey Girlfriend,
I just loved this entry. You are blessed to be married to such a wonderful man. I could remember complaining about Elgin's snoring. Oh God, what I would give to be able to be kept awake by those snores again. You are blessed.

The woman came out of a man's rib. Not from his feet to be walked on. Not from his head to be superior, but from the side to be equal. Under the arm to be protected, and next to the heart to be loved.
