Update on the kitchen...pictures! :)
Here are some pictures of the kitchen, I decided to post the pictures from the beginning to present. The cabnet top for the island is coming in next Tuesday, now supposedly this slab of quartz (sp?) is 600 pounds and in our house it's going to be difficult b/c as soon as you enter our front door there are stairs that go strait up to the kitchen. And as soon as they get up the stairs with this 600 slab they're going to have to juggle it to get it on the island, which just so happens to be just a few feet away from the stairs. So how are they going to get the 5' x 7' (at least) top in one piece up the stairs? I've got no idea...but it's not for us to worry about (thank goodness) since the people are installing it, of course my dad is still very worried.
Before destruction:

The wall, well sort of:

Here, the sub floor was laid (which had staple sticking out of them), but niether the ceiling or the wall beside the door has been patched:

Ok, so here the nice wood floor was put down, everything's patched up. It really adds to it doesn't it? Of course the horrible looking cabnet look really bad (they've survived lots of kids banging on them with hammers :)

Of course even at that sage we had something sticking out of the floor!

The island came in five pieces. And the finishing dimentions are 5' x 11' (which is huge compared to most islands, but my mom wanted something really big)

This is what it looks like now. Amazingly even without a counter top we're still able to put school work and who-knows-what-else on the island where the corners meet.

Alright, that's all for now. I hope all those pictures actually show up!

Hey! Yes, it is nice to just leave comments sometimes isn't it? Lol, thanks for commenting!
We have been so busy lately, that today I am looking forward to just a regular day of school, and staying home. Oh, and our Grandma is visiting (from my Mom's side). She got here yesterday. She used to live right around where we are, before she retired to NC. So now, when she comes to visit us she has a chance to visit with her old friends too!
I hope you are doing great!
In Christ,
Christine ;-)
