Grant is born!

My sister had her baby last month. Yep, I feel like a horrible Aunt that I haven't bragged on him at all to anyone on here! lol! But he is adorable and looks just like his older brother and sister. He and my sister are doing just great.

Does anyone think that summer is going way too fast? Goodness I've got so many things to do still. I was planning on displaying my photography in my bedroom, but haven't picked out enough pictures to cover the walls. :) And I haven't been very good at keeping up the school work. I had planned on continuing my German course through the summer...but that hasn't gone so well.

But I did have a good softball year. Had quite a few injuries, but none of them kept me from playing. I thought for a while that I had a stress fracture on my heel (isn't that a weird place?), I slid into 2nd base with no sliding pad, therefore having a scab running the length of my shin (that did keep me from sliding), a few other things happened that I won't list and then I still have golfer's elbow from pitching (no, you do not have to play golf to get golfer's elbow). So anyway, sorry to blabber on.

Oh and I'm posting in both story blogs right after this =D

Hey!

I know what you mean, Summer has gone by so fast! It's hard to believe! But, Summer's been good this year. :-) Most of it hasn't been too hot, which was very nice. Been pretty busy, and then it seems like I haven't done a whole lot. Weird how that is... :-)
Glad to hear that your nephew and sister are doing good.
Sounds like you've been pretty busy this Summer.
I'll run by your story blogs too; can't wait to read what happens next!

Hey!

It stays really humid here in the Summer, so 70s and 80s are what I prefer when it's like that, but when it's not really humid, 90s aren't as bad as when it is. It's been pretty nice here though. How about for you?

Hey!

I've been doing a lot of re-reading lately of books I read last year or before. Although, I've been reading a lot of Beverly Lewis books lately ("The Postcard" & "The Crossroad", and then her newest book, "The Secret"). Those were really good. Right now, I'm re-reading "The Winds Of Autumn" by Janette Oke. Then, earlier in the Summer, our library had a huge book sale, and I ended up getting a bunch of books that I had been wanting; I still haven't read them all yet. And I haven't even read LOTR or Narnia yet either, which I usually have by this time of year...*sigh* I'm not quite sure how I missed those...but, anyways, I'll stop rambling. :-)
How about you?

This is going to be a long comment...(I think the longest one I've ever written) :-)

Hey!

Yeah, books are something I can talk about for awhile. :-)

I haven't read Summerhill Secrets yet, but I think that the library has some and I've seen them at the bookstore. I'll have to check those out. I've read The Shunning, and The Confession, and Sanctuary, October Song, The Secret and the Abram's Daughters series, and I just got one of the Nellie Fisher books and The Redemption Of Sarah Cain at the library the other day. Beverly Lewis is going to be at one of the branches of our local library for a book signing for her newbook, "The Missing", in September, so Mom and I are hoping to get to go.
As for Narnia and LOTR, I try to read them every year. When I was around 9, I tried to read LOTR, but I never finished any of them, so in 2006, I made it one of my reading goals to read through the series and finally finish them. So, since 2006, I've added that to my yearly goals. It's a good read though, but a bit slow in some parts, but where the movies are a little bit different than the books, there are some neat things in the books that aren't in the movies. (A lot of my favorite LOTR quotes come from the books).
I read the Narnia books right after I first watched the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. I really liked those too, and so I try to read those every year as well. My favorites are the Magician's Nephew, the Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, and Prince Caspian. Yours?
I like Ella Enchanted too! I didn't know about it until after I had watched the movie, and then several months later I saw the book at the library or a thirift store, and I was like, "I've gotta read it!"
I don't mind rambling; I don't get to talk to a lot of people about books that often, so, I think it's pretty fun, (and it's one of those subjects I could just keep talking about...).

Well, I gotta go. Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Hello again!

I actually saw the movie earlier this year, but I just read the book for the first time this week. I really liked it.
I highly recommend the Abram's Daughter's series. They are really good! I read them last year, and I will probably read them again this year.
I haven't read The Preacher's Daughter yet, but my mom has, and we have the other 2 books in that series, but I haven't read any of them yet. I've heard though that it is really good. I've never been to a book signing either, but it does sound pretty cool.
I haven't recently looked at a high school reading list, but my cousin is in middle school and he told me about some of them on his. This year for school I'll be reading a lot of classics for English, but the plus side is that I've read some of them.
Voyage Of The Dawn Treader was a good one too, I just hope that the movie is as good. I agree though, it didn't really fit in with the others.

Well, I gotta go.

You learned German? Like in school, or by yourself? I'd only be able to learn it on my own probably.... and it'd be a pain to learn, seeing as there are different letters in it's Alphabet then ours.... for instance the ones like this : æ, ∂, ç (think that one) œ,etc.

So yeah..... *sobs* I don't think I'll be able to learn it!!!!!!!!!! *screams* OK! Get yourself under control!!!!! *hits self*

okay....* sighs deeply* sorry about that....

Hey!

The end of the middle part is the hardest part of Pride & Prejudice for me to read. I like the classics, and the way her characters talk and how her books reflect the time period. It helps too to have a visual from the movie. I saw the A&E version, but the newer one is my favorite, and it's usually what I picture when I read it.

My main course is English this year. I like it though; so far it has been studying English poetry and plays and such, and the early history of literature, stuff like that.
