Making Your Home A Haven: Choosing Love

Click on the above picture to read Tammy's post for today.

Today Tammy is challenging us to be loving to our family at all times, even when we are feeling tired and grumpy.  Yes, it is my goal to be the loving wife and mother I always dreamed I would be.  It is not always hard, but yes, I have times where it is harder to be loving and gentle towards those around me.  In those times, I need to take a few moments away from the situation and pray, then come back and deal with it in a loving manner.  Loving our families is so important.

This week I have a long list of things that need to be done, I know that I will have to make it an effort to keep loving my family even if I'm overwhelmed.   With God all things are possible and I do have a beautiful family, who will be helping me.  We will be working together, but you know how things are, the mommy is the heart of the home.

Along with this challenge I will try and continue my morning routine and our set bedtimes

I Cor. 13

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;
Does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;
Does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.
For we know in part and we prophesy in part.
But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.
When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.
And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

"I want to encourage you to try your best to be loving towards your family... even (or especially!) when you want to feel grumpy." ~quoted from Tammy's post.

I enjoyed reading your post today. It is so important to be loing to our families. Even when we are overwhelmed we can't take our frustration out on them. This is something I'm working on this week as well. Stop by and read my post when you have time.

What a truth this is! I think about this often - especially after I have tucked my children in at night and I think of the day that passed. Was I kind enough? Did I show enough love and attention to my children? I think it's so important to think these - and to grow each day - being better, kinder, showing more love. Wonderful post! Have a gloriously Spring day!!

Great post. I have had to walk away on many occasions, but I always come back refreshed and ready to deal with whatever the challenge may be.
