Today's walk will be about a walk we took last summer. It was a quiet weekend, a Sabbath afternoon and the children were getting restless. It sort of looked like it could rain, but we decided we would try and go for a walk. It was lovely when we first arrived at the park and the children were happy to have some space to run!

Our oldest all ready to find some interesting bugs.

Two of our children and I, our oldest son was all ready to catch bugs too!

Then the gentle shower started, we could stand under a tree and avoid getting wet. Fortunately it was just a rain shower and not a thunderstorm!
As you can see from the pictures the children didn't mind the gentle rain and neither did my husband. Here there is a little stream and the children love throwing stones in or it is also fun to throw in leaves or sticks on one side of the bridge and then watch for then to come floating by on the other side.

Here Baby and I were standing under a large tree, I didn't really want to get wet...

A happy little girl
Another place to stay out of the rain!

Then the rain stopped, the clouds broke up and we even saw blue sky! So we enjoyed the rest of the walk without the rain. Baby wearing daddy's hat. She is so cute!
It was a lovely walk, rain and all, and we made great memories.
Thinking back to this walk reminded me of a hymn we sing, so I thought I would share the words here today as well.
There Shall Be Showers Of Blessings
Written By: Daniel W. Whittle, 1883
There shall be showers of blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Savior above.
Refrain:
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need:
Mercy drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.
There shall be showers of blessing,
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain.
There shall be showers of blessing;
Send them upon us, O Lord;
Grant to us now a refreshing,
Come, and now honor Thy Word.
There shall be showers of blessing:
Oh, that today they might fall,
Now as to God we’re confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!
There shall be showers of blessing,
If we but trust and obey;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
If we let God have His way.
