A Week in CA Part 6 (Final)
Ok then, after Sunday, of course, was Monday... our last day in CA. In the morning Kevin left to begin his job with Mr. S., and the rest of us played Signs and our family packed up our toothbrushes and stuff.
Amy and Kay took pictures of everyone before we left.
Though they had a little trouble getting Casey's face on camera... Corey did his best to help, but it was a difficult job!

But perseverance paid off eventually.
Mrs. W.
The Orchard again
Me and Mrs. W.
And Amy
and Mom
Lol, poor Mrs. W... she had to pose for soooo many pictures!)
Dad and Mr. W
And of course Boffer Battles took place outside
I had to take a picture of this tree... I LOVE flowers... ;-)
After saying goodbye and packing up the car it was time to leave. It's always a little bit sad to say goodbye to friends, but we're looking forwards to (Lord willing) seeing them again in May! :-)
That afternoon we drove to San Fransisco.
The hills on the way were so cool! They reminded me of the location used for the Shire in LOTR (of course, you'd have to take away the windmills and make the hills smaller, but...)
Finally we reached San Fransisco. With several hours still left to the day, we decided to go down to the pier. Do you know what those wierd lumps on the docks are?
Lol, they were so funny looking! (But cute in a way too)
Of course we got a picture of this
The pier was quite a busy place... more like a fair or a mall!
I tried to get a picture that would give you a feel of the steep roads, but it just didn't work that way.
Maybe it wouldn't be anything to someone who had lived there, but those roads made me feel as if the van was going to tip over any minute! ;-)
Of course I had to get a picture of 'Crooked Street'
Amy and I (poor Amy got the sunny side of the picture)
Kay and Josiah (and of course I must mention that Kay is standing on the uphill side... she's not actually that tall)
the city
the city again
I have to say that it was very interesting to see San Fransisco, but I think that it would seriously drive me crazy to live in the city. I like to live more in the country. ;-)
That night we stayed in a hotel near the airport, and the next morning (at 3:00 I believe) us kids got our first taxi ride. Our driver was very nice, and came from a family of 12 kids. Once at the airport we got scanned, patted down, checked over, and finally boarded our plane for home. By 5:00 (PM) CT time we were home!
It was a great vacation, and we really enjoyed it! :-) I hope that you've enjoyed the pictures! |
