Jan. 23, 2009 - Our Week
I hope everyone had a great week.
I am completely exhausted, I swear we just get busier and busier. I don't think I've had a moments rest all week!
School was great this week! We FINALLY started multiplication which clicked with Noah right away. He found a game online called "Timez Attack" which he LOVES and spends a lot of time playing. Since he understood the concept of multiplication right away, he was able to figure out answers to some of the facts we haven't even come close to learning about yet on his own. I was SO proud of him!
I think the best part of the week was watching the inauguration. Noah had his printed out program and he followed along, checking off each event as it happened. We were all completely moved by seeing Yo Yo Ma and Itzhak Perlman playing together, the whole quartet was soooo amazing. I know it was pre- taped and they couldn't play live due to their instruments not staying in tune in the cold, but I don't think it took anything away from it. Even Abigail loved it, she said "that is so beautiful it makes me cry Mama". So sweet. Hmmm, maybe she is more interested in music than I thought. I really enjoyed seeing Rick Warren do the invocation, he's someone I have a lot of respect for and I thought he did a great job.
We didn't do FIAR this week only because I just found out the place I ordered Volume 3 from didn't have it in stock, so I have to re-order it.
Abby did so well with reading! We are about to move onto consonant blends and she is not excited for that. She was sitting in with us for some of the multiplication lessons. She didn't really grasp the conceptsand that is just fine, no rush whatsoever, she has plenty to work on right now!
Layoffs took place in Kris' division at work this past week. Kris was not affected and his particular department wasn't hit too hard. It's not hitting the media too much yet just because they aren't confirming. Layoffs are supposed to hit other divisions next week. Here is one article I was able to find if anyone is interested.
I'm pretty worn out and ready for bed, so that is about the best I can do even though I left out tons of stuff.
Have a great weekend and God Bless!
