I have entered a short story in the Amazing Kids Short Story Contest. I just barely made the 1500 word limit. Hope for me. I will let you know if I win.
I am SO excited for you! You are an excellent writer and have a good chance of placing. I will be "hoping" for you. Let's see if all those WW lessons will pay off, eh?
(So will you PM me the story? Or e-mail it so I can peek?) You don't have to; just thought I'd ask. I'm itching to see it.
When will you find out who wins?
And did you get my PM with the code for putting your certificate on your sidebar? (OK, let's make sure I'm posting on the right student's blog). Yep, it's you. And I suppose I should just go and skim your blog and find the answer myself. OK. I will.
Good luck!
edited: OK, idiot blogger here. I see the certificate. It looks SWELL! I wonder if the others would like their codes, too. Yikes! I could get a run of requests. LOL
Oh, and did you decide you want me to mail you the certificate? E-mail me your address, then.
That's true, but you haven't told me what your e-mail IS, and it's buried (I'm sure) in with hundreds of OLD e-mails! So you can PM me your e-mail or just e-mail me. Then I can go FIND the original e-mail (by putting my e-mails in alphabetical order). Till then....I'll wait.... :-)
Hmmm...that's a good suggestion. I shall have to add a a lesson--at least to the blog, if not to the writing workbook itself. Let me think on that and see how I could do it....I might have something this summer. Right now I'm scrambling to get ready for a school visit, and I have an editing job, plus all my "normal" things. LOl
Thanks! And maybe I can use YOUR story as the perfect example and show the students how I take it and sprinkle it in. A thought....
I have hardly been able to get on lately because we have been staying at a friends house the past about 7 months and they don't have internet soooo... I barely get to the library but right now we are at my aunts house w/ internet!!!
To be honest, SuzyScribbles is having a hard time figuring out time to write Book 5. LOL
Her grandson just asked the same question last week! ("When are you going to write a story about Cory?"). I told him I had one in mind but no time to write it. I told him HE could write it and I'd post it.
Which brings me to your c-box chat about writing stories about Andi. You bet! I've been waiting for folks to send me some.
You write a short story about Andi and Cory and their friends, and I'll post it on the Adventures of Andi and Cory page. They don't have to be stories about when she was little, either. They can be stories about Andi at 12 or even older, if you want. All it has to be is consistent with the setting (California, 1880s). Anything else you can make up however you want. I'd LOVE to read it and post it. I did that once with my homeschool co-op group. We did a story about Andi and each week they took turns taking it home, adding a chapter, and bringing it back. We had so much fun!
If you e-mail me a story I'll help you edit it (grammar and spelling) and then I'll post it on the blog. I'll even post a link on the main Circle C blog.
Thanks for the comment. No, I don't mind your criticism, I asked for it and it'll help make me a better writer! =)
Yes, I'm going to post more of Kit's story when I have it written, I've kinda gone through a muse lull. =P
I see you have the Answers in Genesis link now! It's really a neat link. Thanks again for telling me how to get the good person link! and Yes I've heard of Living Waters! My eyes were so opened when I read their book and received some teaching tapes from them. I know God's salvation has been spread to so many more people because of that ministry!
I am a teenaged, homeschooled girl saved by God's amazing grace and loves to write. Welcome to my blog! In Christ alone, Lulu
"Living for Jesus Who died in my place,
Bearing on Calvary my sin and disgrace;
Such love constrains me to answer His call,
Follow His leading and give Him my all."
