Are we ready?

I am sorry I haven't posted in awhile. I'm sorry to say that the topic of this post is rather sobering.

Christians are starting to be persecuted more and more these days. We are not allowed to speak out about issues that we believe in. Children cannot talk about Christ in school. Soon we will probably be seeing persecution that is much more violent, like it is in China.

This persecution may not come for another 20 years or so but for kids mine and your age that means we will still have a lot of our life ahead of us. I don't know about you, but to me that is a scary thought.

What I want to ask you is; are you ready? Can you be faced with losing your job, losing your house, or even losing your life and still say, "I will not deny Jesus Christ."

We are so spoiled here in the US. Most "Christians" don't even know what being a Christian means. When persecution comes many people who believe they are Christians will fall away.

Do YOU know what it means to be a Christian? Do you understand that you are a sinner and that you need a Savior? This issue is so important. Your eternal salvation depends on it.

Will you be ready when the persecution comes? if you are truly saved God will help you through it. If you are not you will perish.

So I ask you to examine yourself to be sure you are saved. Ask God to give you strength if the persecution comes.

Amen. This is a much needed message. This past last year or so, I was so grieved and shocked to hear from christians I knew that said they would deny Christ if they had to go through torture for Him or were asked to go through something humilating for Him. I felt like my heart would break in pieces!

You are right on and I feel badly for my grandchildren and for your children also. It's coming, girl, and I think a good test about whether we can stand firm and not deny Jesus is to see how we handle it NOW, when there is no persecution to speak of. How often do we deny Jesus by our words and actions because we're afraid someone may look at us funny?

Anyway, that "adorable" picture is my granddaughter, who is the model for the Young Andi books. The illustrator will have to change the hair color, but he needed some poses to work from. I have a bunch of them. This one reminds me of how I think Andi would react when she first sees Taffy and realizes she has a horse of her own. :-)

Look for more cute pictures in the coming months--I have a bunch! I took them on a horse boarding ranch, and they are getting ready to have another foal. Their young daughter (age 8) will be "imprinting" on this foal and if it works out it will be her own horse...just like Andi. God truly brought this opportunity along. So I told them to take a lot of pictures for the illustrator.
The little girl has played with the foals since she was about 4 or 5, so I'm relieved to know how believable it can be to have Andi hanging out with Taffy as a foal, and the mare and not have any adults around. My new friend told me that the foal loved AnnMarie but was skittish when adults came around. Cool, huh!

Hey, about the books being too young for you (which they are, of course), but how about starting a collection for YOUR children. :-)

p.s. I listened to the first song, and it sure takes me back to my teen years. Our church had a Gospel quartet that went around and sang locally. This exact style. I love it!

I am, and I am trying to help prepare the Littles in our family to know the Word incase there comes a time when we're not allowed to have Bibles. That's why it's so important to hide the Word in our hearts.

Shalom,
