1st Blogaversary and Awards

Today is my 1st blogaversary. Also somewhere around this date my birthday happened. I won’t say when. I also managed to strategically make this post my 100th post!!!

When I started this blog a year ago my main purpose was to learn to write stories. My first post was the first assignment in Mrs. Marlow’s writing workshop. You can see it here. Since that post I have finished the workshop and have started several stories. I have one going on here called The Promise Ring and I have one that Mrs. Marlow is posting on the Young Andi blog. You can read it here. I have entered a few contests and lost a few contests. One was very recent and I might post the story here soon.

I have started a meme called Hymn Monday. But I am afraid that I haven’t been very faithful with it lately. I really need to get back on track with it. And Lord willing I will.

I also want to post about some awards that Courtney at One of the Bunch gave me. Thanks so much Courtney, you are so sweet!

Well they are the Uber Amazing blog and the Triple Awards. I went on a long blog search to find out what those triple awards are. They weren’t easy to find. Here is the list.

Sisterhood Award

Best of Friends

Lemonade Award (It means your blog is refreshing)

Well I would like to award.

Rebekah at By His Grace and for His Glory.

Kalani at Unhidden Light

Amy at Amy’s Artsy Articulations.

Not officially but I would love to give these awards back to you, Courtney. But that doesn’t mean you have to post again!

Sorry I am writing this in a hurry and some of the links will not work until later.

Congratulations on your first anniversary! A whole year, and you've been a faithful writer all along. I'm afraid my blog and my visiting is at an all-time low. But for a good reason. My publisher is taking BOTH books 5 and 6 and I'm scrambling to revise and tweak book 6, so I haven't been posting or visiting at ALL. In fact, I read an old post of mine recently and thought, "Gee, you used to post good stuff. So what happened?" *sigh*

Hello! Happy belated birthday, and happy Blogeversry. (however you spell that...)

Thanks for awards! I don't know if I'll post them, because I haven't been doing awards or tags for a while.

I'll probably leave the site up. It's not work to maintain. But I will have to take off all the free 'downloads.' The lessons can stay, the links to everybody's lessons (they're fun to go read) and the pictures of the kids, etc. can all stay.

In addition, I'll probably move the "new" on-line class over to blogspot. But you're right. *sigh* Now that it will be a real book, the publisher will certainly not be giving away free samples like I did.

The on-line class she wants me to do will be something completely different from my HSB workshop. But I will use the same book---but expanded almost by 1/3. RIght now the workbook is 51 pages, but I need to expand it to about 100...more practice sheets, extra lessons...I plan to create a lesson about changing verb tense in the same story (as in DON'T do it!). LOL
and 'ly' adverbs and 'ing' verbs. Stuff I discovered when I was giving feedback to all the dozens of kids from the HSB workshop. :-)

Oh, tell me what YOU would like to see in an expanded version?

Yes, Lulu, I do hate to be a bucket of cold water, but Andi made yucky beef jerky soup for her brother in my story probably . . . let's see . . . 12 years ago! That's when I wrote it originally. It was very, very different back then.

How's the TOS contest coming along?
